It's time...WHITSON METALWORKS FOR 5th Gen

I am bumping this back up to the top. My wife and I have hit a financial issue and I am having to sell this. Moderators if you can move this to the for sale section. The roof rack is fully linexd And comes with the wind fairing I made out of plexi glass. Josh is a fantastic guy and he did an amazing job in this roof rack for me. All the welds were welded by my shop here in Murfreesboro tn. They're all very clean welds as I shopped around before I had it welded. I am open to resonable offers For the rack. I hate I do this but family comes first before the toys. Thanks guys and all the best. Pm me if your interested. Everything I have on my rack in the photos comes with it including the fairing I made. I'll post pictures later.

Thanks Orion! you're the pioneer here for sure. the price point is still to be determined. Orion's build was a joint effort in that I couldn't find a local to set up mounts and he agreed to handle that part of the project himself, hence the photo outside the welding shop haha. I don't mind doing the same for others, just know I can't build one with mounts attached before spending a weekend with an actual truck to set up my jig with. Having a rack sent with no mounts gives the end user free reign over height and placement. Orion has his a little higher than my 3rd and 4th gen's sit but it seems to compliment the bigger bodied 5th gen pretty well.

Orion I meant to ask; do the front supports fit with the higher placement you have? Does the front feel like it really needs the extra supports? the mounting points are just a bit farther back then the 4th gens so I built in the same front support setup as the 3rd gen racks.

no ladders, but i'm sure any brand of ladder will work just fine, Orion will have to advise of hatch clearance and whatnot. Everything is built from 1" round tube so many accessories out there will work just fine.

From my measurements it will fit

And for josh... I will put then in just in case but as my rack is getting linex I can't say for sure yet.

The rack literally fits perfect. Should have messed around with the bracket placing bc I believe i could have lowered the rack a 1/2 inch more but to each their own. For what I will use it for I'll need that 1/2 later on for anything heavy!and like josh said I offered to take his awesomeness and help with the design but really all I had to do was weld in. Could be a tad longer? But I am very pleased with the end result. The guy who welded the rack in for me was very impressed. This is built to take whatever and last for forever! Now I'm just waiting to get it on for good!

And the shark fin fits perfectly btw!

i dig it man! i know its not for everyone but i love the burly texture of line-x, plus its tough as hell.

pricing would end up being around my 4th gen price but really a tad higher as this is more material. BUT, i'm dead in the water until i get a 5th gen at my house for a weekend to set up my jig. Orion was happy to work out the mounts on his own.

Really like how the Line-x turned out. did you think about doing Line-x to the front bolt? Looks odd just sitting there.
