Really like how the Line-x turned out. did you think about doing Line-x to the front bolt? Looks odd just sitting there.

True but I will have a wind deflector in front so the bolts will be covered for the most part and I could just spray them with Bed liner....probably will be cheaper lol

That looks really good. It's a helluva lot better than I would have ever designed or fabricated in my lifetime. Only one question, why don't the front supports have some sort of "feet" that angle towards the roof channel? There are adjustable bolts that go straight down into sheetmetal with no support underneath above the headliner. You can already see the passenger side starting to flex a little. I can only imagine what it might do if there were weight in the front of the rack.

Also got very little wind noise this morning on my hour commute going 70 mph for the majority of the time. The rack is rock solid and I am very pleased with everything josh has done/ put on the rack! The rack sits very nice over the roof and for all the other gens that have a WM rack... This is another Super nice rack for the 5th gens. All josh needs is for someone to be able to let josh do some measurements and the rack will be fully available for 5th gen 4runners. I can also help josh by answering any questions.

I would say that since my rack was built by pictures and word of mouth that the supports are for people not using the front of the rack... Josh can help with this but also I might have tightened it to much idk. But when josh gets a 4runner on site he will be able to widen the front portion of the rack to match the roof line better so that the front supports will be in the channel. I will never put anything on the front so I have no worries as I can fab something up later on if need be. Again josh used the same supports on his 3rd gens I believe. I haven't heard of any issues as far as the supports.

i am assuming the normal amount. I paid the shop to do it. It cost me $250 out the door.

So lines was really what I ended up thinking was my best option. Also as it's 20* out I would of had to wait to get my rack up. Plus I got a lifetime warranty added in at no cost. To each their own i guess.

I just bought another 5th gen. its in TAMPA... you wanna go get it for me and use it to make your jigs? you can keep it for a week or two if you need it.

I don't think it would take more than two gallon and 3 to 4 rollers for 3 to 4 coats. Yes I'd give myself a lifetime warranty too since I would prep it correctly for proper adhesion.

You tube videos make it look so easy, lol. Then again I also have the time and the place to do something like this. Thanks for the idea. I originally was going to paint it.

As for the Line-X; 250 is a good rate, thats around what i would pay here after begging for a good rate. Line-X isn't a DIY thing as far as i know. it comes out of the gun at over 200 degrees and dries in like 5 seconds. i love it and wish i had the money to have it sprayed everywhere.

Ye, the Line-X is one of the good spray in bedliners. That stuff you buy at the store and roll on yourself is nowhere near the quality of the pro stuff.

I have had that exact same argument a few times...lol. Last night when I told the wife i bought passes for the Chicago auto show.....yup that was one..

Line-X is king, the reason it is so much better than the store bought stuff, is the fact that it is a two part Polly blend, that mixes at the nozzle of the gun. it makes a shell around whatever it goes on, so even if it does not stick well in all places, it is still sealed to itself.

Underarmour even has a Line-X shoe now......

But i digress......... I "need" a roof rack for my TE.....so when someone quits being stingy and gives up their 5th gen for the weekend I will order one.
