ive lurked on your build for a bit now, love the runner. After looking at your pictures I wish I could swap over the MTRs from my wheeler, but it looks like ill have to buy some new ones... oh well.

Im going to pick up some of those straps ASAP, I dont want to mess with bumpstops anymore and cant stand the articulation clunks. Keep it up yo!

I say no body damage but i purposely ran a rock into my drivers door just because i could LMAO. Its just a little scratch. gotta have something to remember trips with.

The limit straps actually have been a great thing. It is limited before full extension but i know its not going to rip the shocks apart. They really stretch a lot so take that in to consideration when buying them. I believe the rule of thumb is about 1" of stretch per 12" of strap. I find that to be right on with quad wrapped straps anything less and you will need to account for more

Rock Lights

Finally got some rock lights on the truck.

Bought these little lights from superbrightleds.com for $1.95 each. I put ten under the truck and bought a few spares. Nice and small and waterproof to 10 M

here are all 10 on the brackets i made. Used the sticky back and sometime wire to secure the lights. I used a single screw on each to hold it to the frame and i also grounded each light to the screw that holds it on.

finished product. Pretty happy and they are bright enough. I already when night wheeling and they really make a difference.

thanks, my truck has some damage. most of it i kinda purposely run into stuff tho. Kinda like "i feel like a little dent today".. Hey do you ride bmx? I just ask because i use to and i figured front the pic at the bottom of you sig.



and besides that i ran the rubicon last week with a bunch of my friends. it was a great trip. spent 4 nights on the con to change it up. Did some day runs on it too. any ways i have a few pics here ya go:

yeah i debated them for a long time. THey really have been nice out camping. I never use my headlamp anymore. it really lights up a big area. They are a good way to spend $20. just take your time wiring them up.

Any way you can upload some more photos of the job? How'd you run your wiring? Are they all on one relay? etc... I'd appreciate it :naughty:

SJC, Yeah i remember when FIT was the newest stuff. I use to ride a fly tierra. Mostly trails tho. I use to ride park in high school a little nothing crazy. i still have some buddies that ride and kill it. and use whatever photos you want. Once its on the internet its free to use

and on a build note i finished up making a new skid that attaches to the front bumper and then goes to the bud built. It turned out pretty good for a $20 price! check it out

Cv fun

Well went and ran hammer down with a few buddies yesterday. I broke a cv, my friend troy broke an ADD stub shaft in the same place, then the SAS taco with us broke an outer hub gear, birf and outer splines on his chromo axle shaft in the same place. It was good :0 3 out of 4 trucks broke. Fixed my junk and drove out. the other broken trucks needed a few tugs but also drove out.

the cv i broke was unusual. It snapped the shaft in-between the 2 cv joints. right at the outer. I was stoked because the cage/balls and star were all intact so i can still use the outer as a trail spare. If i break an outer i can just pop off the outer and then install this outer onto the shaft. Its a little more work than just a straight swap but would work in a pinch. or to rebuild my next broken cv. I finally figured a good way to get the outers off the shafts so thats not a big deal.

Cleaned up and re installing the balls/inner cage and star

Trail spare outer ready to go and a little shot of the broken end of the axle. Notice it snapped right at the inner c-clip. This was a napa max drive cv. It has been on there for 10 months of hard wheeling. the cage was still real good. This was unusual

That is a strange place to break one.. I've always just exploded the outer cages.

your 4runner is a inspiration. i own a diesel variant (surf) and only dream of wheeling in the terrain you have shown. either way i hope to one day have mine 1/2 as tough a rig as you have there. great job man!

And I'm surprised at how well the front ifs does. Its not all that bad. Talking it to clawhammer on saturday and the cougar buttes on sunday should be a good weekend of wheeling
