just raised mine with OME

After 7 years of owning my 2000 4 runner limited I finally wore out my Michelins and put some AT's on there. When the tire guy put them on he mentioned my shocks were shot. Well thanks to the forum I decided to buy some OME shocks and coils from toytec and raise her up 2 inches as well. Couldn't be happier. Here she is last weekend on a mini outing on some local fire roads.

Looking good man! I'm in Arrowhead and a few of us on here went wheelin last weekend and plan to do a lot more in the future. Keep a look out for threads if you're interested.
 
I went with 881 Front Coils and 90004 shocks in the front and 890 Coils in the rear with 60027 shocks. the rear seems a bit stiffer than the front going over the bumps.
 
Bilstein shock part numbers?

Lifts are probably the most asked about item on here.

Help some other folks out looking to copy your setup-not me, I'm satiated for now...
 
Wow, that looks great! How is the ride now compared to stock? Have you noticed any sag when you're all loaded up with gear?
 
Ok, Ive been scared to ask for fear of mockery to death, but as a newbie, what does OME stand for? And how much does a setup like that generally cost? TIA
 
I paid $822 for the shocks and struts with coils and the front assembled. I paid a buddy from church to put them on for me. Work has been slow for him so i paid him $200. Then I had it aligned. Another 60 bucks. Not the cheapest route but I have a good job and had a bit of trouble finding a shop to put on parts I had bought online. But I am very happy now!
 
I kept 265's on there but went from Michelin XT's to Goodrich AT KO's. I didnt want to worry about loss of power or gearing issues and I really dont mind the smaller look. The offroad performance increase has been great
 
More pics please and most importantly now that you've had the setup for a bit what are you thoughts of the on road ride?

I'm beyond confused on what to do. I picked up a used set of tall 99 coils for the front and plan on getting rears along with the trekmaster shocks. The more I look the more I like the height combo of the 881/906(not a huge difference), but according to Steve at SS he states on his website that it won't ride too well because of the spring rate. How does it ride now compared to your previous setup when it was in good condition?

It does ride a bit bumpier on road but it is not annoyingly bumpier. Off road it just eats it up compared to stock, but if you are thinking this set up to be as plush as before as stock it just wont be. There is a small trade off here.

yeah, but if you want a smooth ride, there are zillions of different cars/trucks/suvs that ride better.

I dont see the point in wanting a smooth ride in a 3rd gen... at its best its still not great
 
I just installed the exact OME combo. I notice it a bit stiffer but really love the ride. Makes it feel more capable.
I have no complaints with this set up.
