Just to say hi and get some thoughts...

Classic, check my thread again - work is done and pix are posted. I am going out to drive it! Turned out great!

I need to make a new sig pic soon

Congrats on the new 4R. If you already haven't seen a pic of this, here is mine.
She has 5100's on the front set at 1.75 and 5100's in the back with Toyo Open Country A/T II's in a LT265/70/R17.
First pic is the before and second is her today.
I considered doing the top setting on the front Bilsteins with spacer or taller coil in the rear, but I like the way the 265's look and fill the fender wells. I did not want 285's and deal with possible loss of power and speedo being off.
Third picture is her with about 200 lbs. in the back (about 15 gallons of water and my 10 year old).
Works for me, hopefully the pictures will help you decide for your wants.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Dallasite.

I have the OME setup with the softest springs. It will give you 3" of lift and solve the nose dive problem, but will be pretty stiff. The OME system is designed for overland expedition type travel with a heavily loaded vehicle. I don't think you will be happy with the stiff ride. I have sliders and a winch and it's still pretty rough. You will also need adjustable upper control arms to keep the alignment within spec if you go with 3" lift. The 5100's may be the best setup for you. I also have 285's. There was minor rubbing, but trimming the inner fender liners took care of that. Others have simply loosened the bolts holding the inner fenders and shifted them forward to solve the problem.

Be aware of the way your front end geometry changes with bigger lifts (3" or so). There are some threads here that suggest you won't be able to dial in a proper castor and camber after the lift. UNLESS you install new UCAs like the ones from Light Racing. Icon makes a similar product. The new upper control arms will allow you to get the front wheels where you want 'em, despite contrary advice from ARB.

Welcome to the forum!

Another option would be to set the 5100's at 2.5" as you described and in the rear (instead of the spacers) go with SAW 1.5" coils. I have ths setup and LOVE it. The stance is just right (IMO) and the SAW coils ride very nice- almost like stock- with an increase in load capacity and better articulation which you won't get with those spacers.

Here's a link to my setup...

Ok, so this is my goal after all of my research. I have a Gobie stealth and third row so want some extra height.

I just ordered the 5100's front and rear.

I am now trying to locate the SAW Coils. Where are you guys buying them?? I found two shady looking websites that probably just drop ship everything and that is about it.

Do you have the part number?

Also Antman--- I noticed bags on your coil install... what are those for... do I need them?

Thanks man. I saw the site just wasnt sure if they were reputable or not. I will give them a try.

How's the truck riding? It looks good.

I'm not antman obviously but airbags are for stiffening up the rear when under load so you don't get reverse rake. When you set the 5100 at 1.75 you are level unloaded. Any load will give you reverse rake. The airbags are a great way to solve that when towing or loaded up.

Thanks. Rides great. Very pleased with everything.

If you decide to try spacers in the back instead of the coils, I have a brand new set of 1.5" Daystars I don't need. Every truck is a little different I guess, but if I had gone with the spacers in the back and the 2.5" setting in the front, I would probably have about 1" of rake. I rarely carry loads so rear sag shouldn't be an issue for me.

Thanks guys. Antman I like that setup. I may do that. Looking forward to seeing T4R_finally's later today.

I contacted downsouth motorsports in San Diego about the 5100's and he said there is a nationwide shortage and all are on backorder from Bilstein on the 2014's. Can anyone confirm this??

The part# looked the same for 2010+.

It's true, I got my rears but the fronts have been on backorder for a month. Earlier this week I finally gave up and ordered a pair fo icon coilovers for the front. THen the next day I get a call that icon is out of stock on those too! 6-10 days to build some new ones :P

Geese, truck is almost two months old and I just want some decent adjustable shocks! :D

I ordered from shock warehouse. We'll see what they say.

With the backorder I was pretty set on the OME but then saw the price of new UCA's... no thanks. :tongue1: The truck has 500 miles on it... $1,400 pretty steep.

Duratrac's are on and they are great.

I spoke to shockwarehouse and all four should be arriving tomorrow. I can't locate the sway-aways anywhere in stock so I went to amazon and got the daystar's (thanks for the offer T4R... but wanted to do everything over the weekend and I am a prime member so $3.99 overnight shipping).

I am hoping to accomplish the same stance as I would with the sway aways by using the 5100's up front at 2.5 and then adding the 1.5" to the rear stock springs and rear 5100 upgrade.

Thoughts?

Coming from someone who has done a few things correctly and tried shortcuts too... I’d wait for SAW springs. If you ever decide to to go off road you will be happy. If not, you won’t be happy with the off road performance of spacers.

The daystars will be temporary if they need to be. $45 is not that big of a deal to me to try it out and get the 5100's on now and see how the truck looks and drives.

Not that difficult to replace to totally new rear springs if I need to later. I have a shop and all the tools.
