I'm sorry to start a new thread, it can be deleted when I find the thread, but somewhere here posted a great picture thread on a K9 Rack install on a 5th gen and I can not find it for the life of me. Google has also failed me. Can someone help a brother out?

Thank guys, got tons of pictures. Someone here did a 5th gen and took a ton of pics of the install. it was like DIY Roof rack install or something but I can not find it.

I did not realize the full front runner rack you have to drill into the 4runners roof.

Big no no for me since other manufactures who sell full length racks like Gobi, K9, and Baja Rack accomplish this without drilling into the roof.

So with a K9 no drilling required .... was trying to do a little research and found this thread thought i would ask the question. I am stuck between the frontrunner and the K9 ... not really a jack of all trades so drilling into my new rig not high up on my to do list but i would like a nice sleek rack.... also does anyone know if frontrunner accessories work with K9 rack?

Here is a list of K9's accessories.

Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack Accessories | Equipt Expedition Outfitters

They have a dual jerry can holder but I do not see it listed there.

I'm sure certain Frontrunner accessories will be easy to adapt to the K9 raco and others will be hard or impossible without some additional fabrication. Like if you were wanting to use Frontrunners jerry can holder. This will be easy to adapt to the K9.

I like the expedition rails and the universal corners from frontrunner... don't really need jerry cans or high lift jack mounts those will be on the rear bumper ....

No drilling required for the K9. As stated, im sure some of the frontrunner accessories would fit on the K9 with little modifications.

Have a call in to Paul over at equipt, but have an install question if anyone else has installed a K9. Once you place the track over the aluminum spacers and bolt them down, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of waterproofing the holes where the factory mounts went. Seems like water can get right down in there. I reckon I can squeeze some silicon around the spacers but am I missing something? Rack is already on had to do it at the warehouse I had it delivered to but I'm thinking in going to pop it back off to address the waterproofing issue. Any ideas? Success stories?

I installed mine last weekend and I put silicone around the inside of the spacer only as a preventative to keep water from seeping through the bolt Collier.
