KDSS 2" Lean

I have a 2" lean and I suspect it is due to the KDSS. I know there are tons of posts complaining about a 1/2" lean, but this is far worse. I tried to resolve the issue by performing the calibration- no luck. I came across this:

The post talks about the KDSS system locking up. He brought to the dealer who 'unlocked it' and 'recalibrated it' via techstream? First time I've read this. Is this possible with our trucks?

Are your coilovers not adjustable? Couldn't you just crank the side that's leaning up a few inches and go get it realigned?

When they were installed, did you (or they) do anything to the KDSS lines? If nothing was tampered with, I'd say all you need to do is adjust your coilover.
 
If you disconnect one side of the KDSS bar on the front and rear and the truck sits level - it's a KDSS issue. If it still has the lean - it's an issue with your suspension. KDSS should be set neutral with no pre-load on flat level ground.
 
I remember Arie had a fair bit of lean when he first put the OW suspension in and accidentally drained some of the KDSS fluid. It ended up being an expensive mistake but he did get the system recharged by Heninger Toyota.

Those shocks have been on there for a few years now. Have you checked to make sure they aren't leaking or need to be rebuilt?

They have been installed for awhile and everything was ok. I'm not sure what you're proposing, I theory I guess it could work but what do others think? Not sure that's really addressing the root cause.

Sounds like a good idea to isolate the problem. If it is the kdss, I wonder I can open up the calibration bolts and jack the kdss piston to the point that the truck sits level then tighten up the bolts again.

I definitely read about his issues and have the service receipts that show his expensive mistake. That's why I measured like 30 times as I was loosening the bolts! I was scared sh**less!

Thinking about the suspension, if they were leaking I don't see how it would affect the way the truck sits. Based on my reading, only a binding strut or spring could affect the ride height. Also, the truck sits lower on both the passenger front and rear which makes me think the coilovers are not the main issue.
 
Don't know much about KDSS or the lean, but one of the lift guys sells a spacer that is meant for only one side of the vehicle to help counter any lean.

In the KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), a cylinder is installed to each of the front and rear stabilizer bars. The front and rear cylinder upper chambers and the front and rear lower chambers are each connected by a pipe. The hydraulic circuit is filled with high-pressure suspension fluid. The stabilizer control ECU controls the stabilizer control solenoid valves according to input signals from sensor.

Stabilizer Control ECU's function:

Closes the stabilizer control solenoid valves according to input signals from the sensor to cut the fluid flow to the accumulators.

Turns on the KDSS indicator light in the combination meter to inform the driver when an abnormality is detected in the KDSS. When this happens, a DTC is stored.

Well that suck! I really thought if it had a lot of articulation it would reset. Did it feel like the KDSS was working?

Yep it seemed to be working. Lots of articulation and I could tell the front cylinder extended relative to my skid plate since it was almost touching. You think I can open up the calibration bolts again and jack up the front cylinder until it appears that the truck is level? Its almost like 'bouncing' the truck per the instructions wasn't working for me.
 
Yes, that's the procedure I followed...didn't work. That's why I continued my research and stumbled upon the link I provided in my first post.

Did you get the shutter valves open far enough for fluid to flow in both lines? Because they are dual acting cylinders, its a redundant system with two separate hydraulic systems. If you only got one open it wouldn't work. And if both were open you should be able to move the cylinders independently. Once this happens the vehicle should self level with gravity.

Probably not the solution then. I assumed it was a new install.
