I purchased the DNX7100 yesterday along with the necessary installation harnesses/adapters to connect to the stock JBL 10 speaker system and steering wheel controls. Will install next week and post the parts/process/pics etc.

Does anyone know how to let DNX7100 display album art when playing mp3s from a USB flash drive? I used both windows media and Tag&Rename to edit ID3 tags with embedded album art but it still says "no photo" when playing the mp3 file. If you have the unit and got it to display please let me know.

the xm is a bit odd to operate as it is run through the navi and not the source selection.

Nice work! Looks great. How did the install go? Any difficulties? I received all the parts in the mail today shy the actual unit! Oh well, next week it is.

only one minor issue on my 02. their was this odd box that the wires ran through. at first i though i bought the wrong harness but after some poking around in the dash i found that the wires my harness was looking for went into a box then came out the other end for the factory unit. soon as i figured that out i just bypassed that box every thing works no issues.

1. Yes it requires an adapter. Basically every aftermarket unit with the exception of a few eclipse units require an adapter. There is one for yours that plugs into the back and works flawlessly vs. the universal PESWIX. I think the part number for yours is SWI-JACK

2. You don't have to hook up the speed sense or reverse wires unless you want to. Speed sense helps your GPS keep you on track if you travel through places with a lot of hills and elevation changes. Reverse is only necessary if you are running a rear-view camera. You can connect the light green (parking brake) wire to the black wire in the harness...illegal but easier.

3. Yes its 2 slots.

According to answer #2, is that how you bypass the parking break sensor?

on the kenwood all you do is ground the parking break wire. their is no speed sensor wire. and its not like the pioneer where you have to ground a second pin

if you get the kenwood when you wire up the metra harness to the kenwoods harness all you have to do is connect the black wire and the green parking break wire to the same location

all your doing is tricking the unit by telling it your always in park.

I just posted this question in another thread but thought I'd ask here to...

Is the ONLY reason to hook up the Reverse Sensor for use with the rear-view camera? In other words, if I'm not installing the camera, not hooking up the Reverse Sensor will have zero impact on NAV performace etc? Thanks.

correct all it does is allow the navi to know when you place the car in reverse mines not hooked up. and wont be till i get the camera

i have to say i love this nav unit after only a few days. all though the xm is a bit of a cluster f the rest of it is awesome
