Was it just the P light or all of them that you replaced?
Thanks OP. I bought the bulbs a few months ago but didn't have free time to do it. I did it all today with cool white bulbs from superbrightleds.com and it's a night and day difference.
Side note, make sure you test the bulbs as your working. I had to redo the bulbs on the climate control 4x for all 3 to work. Realized the contacts weren't touching the board when i screwed them in to lock them in place. Took a little but of bending to reform the plastic base of the led for direct contact on the circuit board.
I also took apart the switches for the rear window, ect and defrost for easier access to put the bulbs in. Was significantly easier this way.

I just switched the P light to halogen. I was able to leave R, N, D, 2, L as LED.

This is a awesome thread for these lights, I have the D light on my dash that is currently out. I figure while i have it apart i am going to replace the D with the regular light and I only want to change the Speedo, Tach, climate controls and ECT/RR windows lights.
Here is my main question though, the pictures of the white LED look really bright at night. I read earlier that the dimmer works until there is not enough power, I am not 100% positive what that means? Can you dim the lights down some and keep it there?

The dimmer works the same as before. Brightness should not be a concern.

Thanks for the reply. One more question...... if i were to order all white LED's will the turn signal and D light be white or are there colored lenses one those keeping then green?

Nothing is impacted besides the gauge backlighting
I just did this a few weeks ago and would have skipped led's in the dash blinkers. I threw my original bulbs out so no point looking back nor do I feel like taking it apart again. They're too bright at night.

This thread was a great resource to replace the lights on my dash. I haven't had lights on the defroster and rear hatch window switches for many, many years. Or the A/C button, although it is very dim because the LED is aimed straight up versus toward the front of the switch and the switch is internally tinted green.
One of gauge light holders (1 of the 3 slightly larger bulb holders) fell apart when I removed it (heat embrittlement), so I stole one of the unused, slightly smaller, ones from the bottom row of lights. Even though it was a little smaller, it still locked in okay. I have some replacements now, so if I need to pull the dash apart again, I may replace it...
I did have to replace the "D" LED with one I put a couple thin coats of yellow spray paint on as uncoated was way too bright at night.
I had to remove the LEDs on the dash turn signal indicators as I got a weird feedback on the opposite turn signal dimly flashing and when hitting the brakes.

I've got more questions than answers with the more I read about replacing the bulbs with LEDs...
When I look at Superbrightleds.com, any given bulb has a dozen or more choices. Which do I go with? Should I try for the same brand on all the bulbs for the sake of consistency?
Also, are hot spots that some experience just a given element of having LEDs? Seems like any of the pictures Ive seen show atleast some extra brightness on the guages in one place or another.

From all that I have read on this, no, changing the 3 dash bulbs will only change the backlighting of your Speedo, Tach, etc. The PRND2L lights are all individual.
I actually prefer the D burned out....I have other bulbs out but am really debating between OEM bulbs and LED. I keep my dash lit as low as I can because it helps me see better at night not to have bright lights close and I fear that I won't be able to get the LED as low as the OEM.

This is true for some led replacements. They cut out about halfway through the dimmer because the voltage is to low. The ones I have get pretty close to the bottom before cutting out. Give a crisp low light look to the dash.

Same here, I did all of my lights led and the "D" was way too bright so I just left it out, it's better that way.

Here it is stock, is the climate control area supposed to light up more? i.e. I can't see any of the dials or buttons in the dark. Only the air recirculation, defrost.

Yes, the buttons are lit up on mine but the display is unfortunately not. I need to fix it as well.
