LED fog light bulbs....

If you don't mind my asking:

How did you get the to passenger side? Can't seem to figure out how the remove the protective piece from the back? (and i am trying to avoid stitches - don't want to have to explain that... :confused:

Lay on the ground (passenger side) remove (2) 10mm bolts holding up the plastic stuff directly under fog light area. this allows you to bend back the wheel well and have full access to the fog light. for whatever reason they put a shield there, I pulled mine bottom center towards rear of the runner and 3 clips popped out, put the shield on the ground, now you can see everything you need to see. 2 screws and the fog comes out. 1st time I tried I cut the hell out of my hand because I didn't know to pull the wheel well back, read others are pulling the bumper (thats not hard by the way) but what I said above takes no more than 5 minutes to change the fog, maybe 10 1st time around

The passenger side was a pain in the ass with that protective piece. I have a limited, so I'm not sure how much different it is than other models. I accessed it from the top. I removed the retainer clip from the plastic piece and had to bend the crap out of it to finally get it to move out of the way. Be careful with the AC lines in that area. My mistake was when I was bending it, I was pulling on it really hard to move it and it finally budged but my pinky slid across something inside of the bumper and cut it real good. I'd try the other method listed above first.

Driver side seems easy enough, passenger side i can't find a way to remove the plastic behind the light. I can get my hand in there to change a bulb, but i need to remove the plastic protector to be able to remove the entire light.

It has clips and pops off, it's way easier if you take the bumper off.

Highly recommend the Morimoto XB Black LED fog lights, I freaking love mine and they're plug and play

I just discovered these today, and since they are OEM I will start with these. Only concern I have is if they are too cool of a color temp at 6000K. From pics I've seen comparing to stock halogens these go much wider so it's easier to see where you're turning better at night.

Does anyone know if there is a writeup on the install of these? It sounds like the passenger side could be a little tricky, and I like to have all the info I need when I tackle these things.
 
For those that missed my post. No need to pull the bumper.
Remove (2) 10mm bolts shown in pic. Push wheel well away and you'll have full access to the fog light. The cover over the fog? Grab it and it pops right out. Simple, easy and your done in 3 minutes.

Somewhere on here (in the millions of fog lights threads) - a member used them a reported they were good. It may be the one below.

Anyone running OEM toyota accessory LED fogs?


They seem to be a clone of the Lexus lights (which fit our 4Runners). They should arrive this week, and i'll probably install the next weekend.

I would think if there is an issue, it'll be how the hold up over the long term...
but that is just a guess.
 
I’m running lastfit led head lights and some led fogs from Amazon from alla lighting very bright and match the headlights perfect...

Love the fogs, super easy install to boot. The passenger side only required removing the two bolts from the bottom and then folded the liner back and over the outer tie rod. That fog splash cover literally pops off with a minimal pull and then hinges upward to release. 2 screws on the fog, voila removal complete. Did the drivers side just by reaching up from the bottom and removing the fog light screws.
Might have taken 25 minutes total

Thank you for being the 1st I'm aware of to admit the passenger side does not require bumper removal or busted knunkles to get at them. take those two bolts out and it opens up with free and clear access!

Congrats! Lookin' good! I do have a question for you now that you have them installed. How much of an improvement are these over stock halogens? Obviously these 6000K LEDs will cast a very white beam vs the less white halogens, but do they actually help you see what's on the road much better, and also do they shine a wider beam to the sides than stock? Thanks!
