this might be a stupid question.

but using the high beam wire as a trigger wire, do you need to have the high beams on to turn on the led light bar? can i trigger it straight from the battery?

The trigger has to have 12V current.
So the answer to both of your questions are "yes".

You cannot connect them directly to the high beams, but you can use the high beam circuit as the trigger for your relay as described in my 1st post. :gossip:

Thanks [MENTION=81322]barryhiram[/MENTION]. If the grille wasn't 100% wedged in place and hopefully never coming out again, I would take it out to get some mount photos.

The concrete angle brackets I got worked perfectly with these two existing bolts in the bumper support to accommodate the 32" bar, both in height and width. I didn't have to drill or cut anything.

Was shocked at how well it worked out.

Ok guys, I'm the least handiest guy in the world, and so my crew at Best Buy is going to install my CREE bar by Opt7. Opt7 is the same company that made my LED healights, so I trust them on the light bar. Here's a link to the light bar.

So for the brackets, I saw the link to the brackets at Lowes...Those will work without any mods? I thought I saw on another thread, some fabrication shop selling brackets for $50-$60, and my thought is, why would I pay $50 when I can pay $6? Is there anything special I need to tell my Best Buy guys about these brackets? (they're not your normal Best Buy guys, they are really good. I trust them fully, and drive past like 4 other Best Buys just to get to them)

Uhhhh..... Quality of the install & and it's going to look really bad !

I can give you an example, it is a bit on the extreme side and has no direct correlation to a 5th gen 4Runner:

So someone goes and buys a quality rifle (850.00-3000.00) that is capable of shooting sub MOA at a given distance... say @ 200 yds.
Then they want to go on the cheap and they purchase a 159.95 Simmons Scope and run to Wal-Mart and pick up a set of 6.00 base and rings.
They mount said base, rings and scope, take the weapon out and shoot it and then wonder why the rifle will not shoot as capable..... I know some who have tried to do this! :wow:

Now, you, have a nice T4R, you spent $$$ 22.00 on a nice Light Bar, now you want to go out and put a 6.00 Concreted Bracket to mount that light bar instead of purchasing a quality bracket or fabricate one ! :wow::wow::wow::wow:
When you see your light bouncing around when on, you will want to re-think your choice, maybe. YMMV

I know guys, I know that Best Buy isn't normally good, but these guys are good, and honestly, I'm so NOT handy, seriously, it's better if they would do it. Let's just say I have trouble with IKEA furniture. It's rate IP67 and they are CREE LEDs and they made my headlights and I have no issue with those...

Wasn't really making fun. More to the point was the bracket choice, because if your bracket moves under vibration, that isn't a good choice.
Hell, my light bar is a MicTuning bar (original eBay bar was destroyed by a well placed road rock), wasn't expensive. I thought Opt7's were close to rigid pricing until I looked.
So whatever bar works for you and gets quality results like Opt7 and my MicTuning....that's what counts.

I think you're making a good choice on the brackets. They also have a YouTube video on the install if your bestbuy guys need some background on that, as I'm sure they are comfortable with the electrical end of it.

I have been really impressed so far with my Opt7. Great bang for the buck light bar.

Sometimes it's good to know one's limitations. It's your vehicle in the end and do what's right for you. Just know although we give each other a hard time in the end most on this forum are here to help when needed.

Hell yea, as long as the black wire is grounded close to the receiver end, your EBR will stay sub MOA! Been there, done that! Just don't have a photo it! :lol:

I used those concrete brackets, obviously, and have no light movement at all. They worked perfectly. Really doesn't vibrate at all, outside of what any bracket would do considering it's bolted to the bumper.

I'm completely happy with it.

Only one I can find right now.

Paint the brackets black and you'll barely be able to see them. They look a hell of a lot better than some hacked up aluminum stock held together by a handful of hardware, that's for sure.
