Makes more sense. What lift?

Front
Bilsteins 5100 set to .75'' of lift
Maxtrac 4'' lift spindles
Stock springs (because once I put the Toytech front springs on and had the 5100's set to 2.5'' of lift and then took it off the lift I had gained 12'' from where I started.)

Rear
Bilsteins 5100
2'' All-pro springs

I ended up with a ground to bottom of fender measurement of 40'' all the way around within a quarter of an inch.

Love the way it rides and sits now. Its a brand new truck!

Gotcha. I'm at 41" in front, 43" in rear. So you're very close to me now.

Pump your brakes....and try again.
Remove the jack stands before you measure...remember how to read a tape? Basic math?

And I stated that I ''went up'' 7.5''...... not that I put a 7.5 inch lift on it! But thanks for reading!

What lift do you have now?

It's a daystar 2.5 in front and 1.5 inch in the back with Fj Trail team shocks and coils.
So it's about 3/2 of lift overall. I have a lot of room only because I ran 285s with no lift .... I know kind of dumb but I trimmed out enough so it would clear. So now that it is lifted I still have 285/70/17 but I have quite abit of room left. I don't really want to do a body lift either, but it is still an option. Also with the v8 I feel that I have plenty of power left before I notice any lack of power with the larger tires

Depending how you drive I see a lot of guys get almost 60k

Alright guys, I am looking at getting a lift kit this Christmas and am trying to figure out which route to go. I am looking to spend about $500 (give or take) and would like to make sure I get the best deal for the money. I don't do much offroading yet but I just get my Runner and havent went because it is bone stock.

My 4Runner is a 03 Limited V8 4WD without XREAS.

Needs:
Capable of going off roading
Maintain the stock ride quality (maybe a little stiffer, I feel like my truck bounces a lot)
At least 2.5 inches all around
Would like to avoid spacers if at all possible

I am willing to buy the parts separate instead of buying a complete kit. I do not have any additional weight on the body so that isnt an issue.

Options I am looking into right now:
3" FJ Lift Kit W/Spacers & Rear ToyTec RCC2.0 Coils
Cornfed 3"x2" by Burtman Industries
OME Suspension although those options seem to be out of my price range

Im also trying to figure out some other mods I would like to have done during the Christmas season while I have a little extra cash. So what mods have you done that are a must?

I just installed some KO2s in a 285/70-17. I took off 305/65-17 KM2s and was trying to fit 285/75-17 KM2s but they we're less then a 1/4" from my sliders so there is no way they would work. I already have the body mount chopped but the sliders are welded in 4 places down the Fram so they're there to stay. I'm not entirely sure I like the way it looks with 285s but they don't rub. The 1st pic is with the old tires, the two pics with the tires standing next to the truck are the 285/75-17. They looked fantastic on the rig, just weren't gonna work.

So were they 1/4" away from your front tires? I'm looking at getting the same sliders and similar sized tires, would it work if the sliders were welded back a bit further? I know these are the longer sliders on the market.

This is a pretty tame setup compared to most on this thread, but I am very happy with results so far!

Have only had the T4R since the end of September, and I have switched from XREAS to Bilstein 5100s all the way around with front at .085. Stock coils... hope to do FJ upgrade or similar someday.

Sorry, no measurements of before or after... had the truck up on stands when I realized I forgot to make a measurement with stock XREAS...

Just got the snows mounted up, it finally got below 40 here consistently in Minneapolis.

Pics in order:
1. stock sport wheels with 265/65r17 Duelers that came with T4R when I bought it

2. Can see a distinct difference

3. 265/70/r17 General Altimax Arctics mounted to 2012 SR5 wheels I bought from [MENTION=79490]Victor_inox[/MENTION] which were in awesome shape (thanks for the great packaging job on the shipment btw!)

I have run the Generals on an Acura we previously had and loved them. Hope they will be just as great on the T4R!

Starting to think my winter setup looks better than the summer setup!

I'm looking at wheels that are 8.5" wide, 0 offset and 4.72" backspacing. Am I correct in assuming these wheels will stick out 1.5" more than my stock wheels?

That is a fantastic look. I'm getting ready to get mine modded to look very similar. I just need to have the people here review my plan before I pull the trigger. Hopefully I can get some good adult supervision

On my '04 V8 Sport I just swapped XRAES for 5100s all 4 corners - fronts at 2.5", added rear 1.5" daystar spacer.

looking at the new Cooper STT Pros 265/75-17 on Pro Comp 5034 w 0 offset...

Any other tire suggestions, have experience with the Cooper STT PRO or anyone see problem with rubbing on that set up

I love the results and the ride is soooooo smooth!!!
