Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Pulled the trigger on an OME kit, 885 front, 895 rear.

I bought the front struts assembled w/ new mounts and bushings, but I'm still not sure I want to do it myself... I'm going to think about it for about a week 'til they get here. I just know I'm going to break some rusty bolts, plus I don' have a torque wrench or another car/significant other/roommate to go get parts after I would inevitably take everything apart and need a tool or hardware from the store... Need brakes and might have the shop do tires (255/75/17 BFG T/A KO2's on stock 17" wheels) at same time.



Flame me for not DIY'ing or tell me horror stories of your DIY gone wrong - anyone encounter problems removing rusty old XREAS components? My '05 is in good mechanical/running condition but it's awfully rusty underneath, it's logged 150K+ miles in Kentucky.

I posted a thread earlier, I'm doing almost the exact same install tomorrow. I bought Toytec RCC2.0 Superflex rear coils instead of the OME 895. There are videos linked in my thread - "OME kit install". The other thing you'll want is the Exploded View of the Torque settings. Let me get that posted later.

Hey there. I was noticing your build and the tires you have. I am about to buy some tires and found a deal on some Nexen Roadian AT 10 ply. I don't load it heavy but figure it can't hurt to have the 10ply. I just off road with it. Not a daily driver. You think it is overkill and they may be really heavy? Or just go for it because they might be a little tougher too?

I have stock Michelin CT's (265/65/17), FJCruiser springs in all 4 corners and 3/4" net lift Cornfed spacers in the front.Links with more info in my sig.

I've added 255/75/17 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours. No rubbing, no issues, 35psi front, 33psi rear is awesome, mpg is up, mpg meter is dead-on, stock rims, no spacers. Tire link in sig.

Have never seen one in that color. At least not in Alberta

Daystar budget boost leveling kit. Stock tires.

Just wondering on the bug shield you mentioned, did you have to remove the grille and hood latch to attach the bug shield, I ordered one from AVS and it was garbage, so I was wondering if the WeatherTech had a better install? Thanks

Just purchased a 2008 4Runner sr5 v8 iForce, had a 2000 sr5 before this one, 5vz-fe. It has a toytec 3" lift, 16" TRD 6 spoke gunmetal wheels, Goodrich 285/75 r16 ko2's. Amazing off-road with technical trails. On the highway there is a lot of steering with this combo. Haven't had it aligned yet, but it stays pretty straight with hands off the wheel at 60 mph. I noticed there is a deficiency in skid plate protection around the radiator/ oil cooler that is amplified by the lift kit in the 2008. Need to fab something to keep stray brush/sticks from piercing something!

I like my daystar 2.5/1.5 kit. It works well with the Xreas sport suspension. When my xreas dies i'll probably put a proper lift on my truck. If I had and sr5 i would go strait to a suspension lift.

Hmm, good to know. I think i'll be purchasing the daystar kit for the time being. But i'm also looking at the Rough country kit since it does come with rear struts and springs....

Has anyone used bilstein 5100 with stock springs, maxed out at 2.5" in the front? I've been thinking about going this route, and just lifting the rear with spacers..

Opinions on this?

If you've done it, what's your opinion on this route? Pics would be helpful too

Too new of a member to post a new thread, would you guys recommend the toytec 3" spacer lift? Or the 3" spacer and toytec coil lift? Is there any problems with these lifts?
