Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Icon 2" rear

Good looking ride!

How happy are you with this setup? Wish you had done anything differently? 5100s on the rear, stock, or.....? Any other issues? Sorry for the thousand questions, but I'm trying to decided between the OME vs Toytec/Eibach for the front and Toytec vs Icon for the rear. Looks like you have a very similar setup to what I am debating.

Thanks in advance!!

She's getting there.

Are those black headlight housings? Looking clean!

Has anybody tried to run 33's on minimal lift, by trimming the body panels/ tubbing firewalls? I currently have about 1" of lift up front (TRD Offroad coils from tacoma + top out spacer), nothing in the back.

On my old 3rd gen, I ran 35's on ~1.5" suspension lift, and lots of body chopping/ tubbing - just curious if anyone has done something like that on a 4th gen.

I'm pretty happy with the setup honestly. I have yet to ride in a 4th gen with "true" coilovers up front like icon, king, radflo, etc though so I don't have anything "better" to compare it to yet.....but I don't really have any complaints.

I went with Icon in the rear because I got a good deal on their springs, and wanted to match the springs and shocks. Also I was skeptical of using 5100s in the rear for fear of not having enough travel as they were only rated for 1" of lift...

I went with OME/5100s in the front because I got the front suspension from a buddy for super cheap too. So I didn't really have to make any hard decisions haha...kind of just bought used parts (minus the rear shocks and UCAs) and then threw it all together.

Above all I would recommend buying SPC UCAs. I have been very happy with them, and I believe they make a noticable difference in ride quality.

Yeahhh, running into this with my 5100s/OME885s at the moment. They're 'topping out' when the suspension hits full droop quickly, and it's not a pleasant feeling.

Agreed. My SPCs are awesome. I love that if the balljoint goes bad I can just swap it out. No need to press or replace the entire arm.

I just noticed one of the ball joint boots on mine is torn. Do yours have the greasable ball joint? I’m considering the upgrade but wondering what you use/how often to grease.

Another vote for SPC. I run 17x9 -38 offset wheels because the SPC allow huge adjustability!

Yeah, mine are greasable. I just keep an eye on em and pump in a few squirts if they start looking deflated.

New wheels and tires. 17x8 0 offset Icon Rebound with 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Finished the install yesterday! Bilstein 5100s with OME 885/895 stings from YotaMafia. 17x9 Procomp wheels with 0 offset that I got on sale with some 285/75R17 Toyo open country a/t's I got used from a friend. Super stoked with how it came out. Very minimal rubbing, only had to trim front bumper.

nice.

someone local is selling 285/70/17 (i think load E) BFG ATs with 4k miles on them, 5 of them, for $500. im tempted to buy them, been running tall skinny 255/75 nice and light and about same diameter i think. im discouraged by all the additional weight, not so much trimming or w.e. and i have a similar lift as you.

need to be convinced but pretty sure theyd be a sweet setup

Thats a pretty good deal. I think they'd look sweet but im partial to a wider tire set up, looks meaner imho. I only got these cause they were 200 bucks for 5 tires, would've gotten a smaller size because this thing is much much slower now.

nice.

For that price you may as well grab them and throw them in the garage while you mull it over. If you decide against them I’m sure you’ll have no trouble recouping the cash.

I have the economic package: Bilstein 5100s and Falken wildpeaks

Bilstein 5100 all 4 corners, still have stock springs. Ill need to upgrade the rears if i do anymore towing. I did a big uhaul recently and the ride was rough.

Falken wildpeak AT3 265 70 17, couldnt pass up $120 per tire, though I probably would have gone for 255 75 17 if I had a good deal

Nice! I actually love this look. Do you get any rubbing at all? Thinking about doing the same thing and throwing 265's on there, I like how it fills out the wheel well.

After a year of the Toytech/Bilstein 3" Lift installed I finally got my TRD Pro Wheels in black and wrapped them with some 285/70/17 KO2's.

All I had to do is push the liners forward and remove the front muds, no rubbing.

Anyone rocking ATX201BR’s on here? I love the look and would love to see them on a rig. Also, I have experience with Achilles tires on the sports car side, but does anyone have any experience with them for off-roading? I really like the sport tires and the MTX tires look pretty good as well. May try them and send a review for all of us.
