So im kinda new to the forum and i want to ask a few quick questions if you guys dont mind. I was looking at all the 3rd gen lift info and i am a little confused. I love the look of this 4runner its the look i am goign to go for when i lift mine i am just doing a little research befor ei decide to pull the trigger. I am thinking of going the OME way but when i look at the set up that econ did it looked to me like he did the 881 2.5" lift coil for the front and 906 2" lift coil in the rear. Am i reading this right or am i missing something, wouldnt that make the front higher then the back. ???. could someone please explain. Do i need to do a diff drop for this setup? Also what is the best price around for this setup i found what i beleve to be it on a website for $699 +$100 to build the fronts. Thanks for all your help in advance.
PM me too, please! :thumb3:
Does the rear sag as easily as the stock springs?
thank you guys for the info that help clarify it a ton for me. Econ what tires and rims are those they look stock but i just wanted to check. Also can you post more pics please

I'd like to know tires and size too. At 150k miles my wife's '01 3rd gen is about to (finally) get a bit of a build.
Interestingly, we've been looking at newer SUVs and just can't see spending $35k for another one when we've loved this one since mile 4. So it's a gas-sipper for the day to day stuff and this is going to become a real truck.
Your setup looks fantastic (read: just the right height for me, who doesn't do much more wheeling than rough dirt fire roads). I'm sure it feels stiffer than whatever washed-out suspension was on there, but does it handle better / crisper / more settled on-road too? These days we're getting tired of everything we hit being a squish and shimmying through the entire truck...
Tires are treadwright guard dogs - 265/75/16's (retreaded tires). I was very skeptical at first, but after months (yes, months) of research, I was sold. I read countless reviews on Jeep, Dodge, 4X4 forums, and never once found a firsthand story of failure of one of these tires. I read about wheeling expeditions, heavy towing, and daily driving that all saw great performance out of these tires. As we all well may see later in this thread, there are definitely those who won't go near them. That's fine. I will. So far, they balanced great, they ride great, and the price is unbeatable. $427 shipped to my door. I usually am a "you get what you pay for" kind of guy, but I do believe this is one of the rare exceptions.
That said, the lift performs very well on road. I definitely feel more stability over bumps, but it's not as "plush" as I imagined it would be. It's just stirdy. Firm.
Regarding the Guard Dogs (I've heard great things about them also)how loud are they and which model did you get? Love the looks of your Yota.
They are Load Range D's. I specifically requested Goodyear MTR sidewalls. They are noisier than my old cooper all terrains, but not that bad. They produce a high pitch sound at speed that isn't too noticeable, and not at all distracting or annoying. It is quieter than I was expecting.
Those are the exact tires I want to replace my BFG Mud Terrains with when they are done. However, I think I still have 40,000 miles of wear left in the BFG's....so it might be a while. lol
Glad to hear you like the them...I'm just as sold as you on Treadwright at this point. :thumb3:
Looks great man! I'm in need of a new bumper on my rig, and thinking of upgrading to the 99+ style, just so I can run those OEM fogs!
The spacers do a great job to bring the stock wheels out!
