Limited Edition Mod Thread

After being inspired by [MENTION=107460]Magnetic4R[/MENTION] , [MENTION=115334]Mistaken[/MENTION] and [MENTION=152825]4daboyz[/MENTION] [MENTION=166158]reddb21[/MENTION] I have done a couple of mods to my limited. I personally did like the Chrome at first until I saw how much better it looked without. I guess to each their own but here's One of the mods inspired by the guys that I had done today among others.

Thanks man. Actually got it wrapped like yourself. In Satin/matte. Kind of a bad pic. The sun makes it look like I ave chrome on the bottom with the reflection. But I did leave the door handles and 2 chrome accents on the lower part of the bumper. Actually my LE is mag gray with matte black wheels. Here is a side pic I'll probably plastidip the chrome piece under the doors. Not sure though. I'm not the best when it comes to plasti-dipping. Haha

What bumper is that? How much did it set you back? That looks super clean and mean!

Has any LE owner modded their interior lighting?
You have some interior lighting i.e. door and footwell lighting that us TE's /SR5's don't have.
Many of us would like the option to purchase an upgrade kit to match the LE.

Did you dip the door handles too? If so, did it impact the touchless entry?

I did mine with four coats and still have full functionality.

Swapped Rocker Panels

My new sliders will be in next week so... off with the limited rocker panels and on with the trails. Looks strange now but should fill in nicely with the sliders installed.

I don't think it looks bad without personally - front fender mount kinda sucks tho, I'm thinking about just leaving mine off or just get the caps and not the rockers.

I like that look a lot... what do you mean the fender mount sucks? On my FJ80 I had to use a piece of aluminum to stop the fender flare flapping - is it some kind of easy fix like that?

I mean the front lower fender mount is an eyesore without the trail rocker panel cover cap or the entire LE rocker, it's much lower than the rest of the rocker area, fugly, and still needed for fender support so cutting it off isn't the greatest idea. (covered in mud in my pic, harder to see)

Shrockworks sells a solid steel cap

I installed Shrockworks sliders today. Took about 3 hours and there were a couple times I needed a third hand with the stick-nuts.

With the trail rocker panels and front caps it looks close to finished IMHO. The rear door flares will be in this week and I should have them installed and painted by next week. I know many don't mind the difference in depth from the rocker panel and Limited rear door flare but it induces an OCD flare-up with me. Having said that, here it is before the trail rear flares.
