Local shops wont touch XREAS

Ive been to three shops so far (4wheelparts, Maui Off Road, & DH Automotive) and they all said they will not touch the XREAS suspension. I told them that folks on the mainland are doing spacer lifts while keeping XREAS. But they all said they dont want the liability.

What are my options?

XREAS is starting to get to me...in a bad way =(

I'm having the same problem here in Canada...on top of that most don't even know what 'XREAS' is (including Toyota dealerships!!! this blows me away) but as soon as I fill them in they say sorry we won't touch that...I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! I don't have the tools or knowledge to do on my own so my options are limited...I priced out yanking the whole system and replacing with OME...just the parts were $1266, with labor it would be over $2000 bucks! On top of that I bought an extended warranty for my runner and would probably void it if I went this route so I'd lose the money there plus if something were to break I'd be on the hook for that too...:bash: :bash: :bash:

on a happy note, the place that quoted me on the OME would probably do the spacers for me...to the tune of around $1000...god&@^$ exchange rate!

Bite the bullet. It's worth it. I happily yanked my XREAS myself & my friend & I put in the OME lift. Best thing I've done so far to her and there is NO WAY I'd go back. Only bad part is now I'm storing XREAS parts!! lol

I would invest in whatever tools you are lacking and try it your self. If that is not an option for whatever reason, then read up on where you can disconnect the XREAS system. There are certain locations that you can undo the connections. Perhaps they will let you disconnect the system yourself upon entering their shop? Do so yourself, and tell them to do the rest of the install as usual...ie: as if it didnt even have XREAS.
