You may start to like IPA's, have an urge to find a dirt road, and grow a (bigger) beard. These seem to be common side effects of being a 4Runner owner.

As did I. It's truly awesome going to meet ups and wheeling events and everyone has a cooler stocked with their favorite brand IPA's and Pale Ales. Ha! I had a beard before, but the 4Runner has caused a thicker growth with less of the ability to hear my significant other's opinion about it eep:

Entune sucks but isn't as bad as some. I've had mine randomly reboot and reset settings for no reason.



In strong crosswinds, I get a rattle under the passenger side wiper cowl. Not sure of the cause and would be difficult for the dealer to troubleshoot.



Rear seats creak sometimes.



Steering wheel is poorly designed.



HVAC is poorly laid out.



Cupholder design is obsolete.



Wish I would have gotten a Premium with the Sunroof.



No heated steering wheel option.



Removing the spare tire is a PITA.



Stock headlights are pathetic. I mean just horrible.



Transmission tune wants to upshift too quickly for MPG.



Door armrest is too low for comfortable use.





Now the above are all very small things and aren't really problems but more design flaws.



You won't have the issues that cause it to be at the dealer for weeks or puddles in your garage or leave you stranded.

....my god why don't you sell it...

it took my 2016 limited 8 weeks to get to canada... was worth the wait. Added a few mods to fix what I didn't like and now its perfect. There's one thing I cant fix... since its black its always dirty !!!:crybaby:

Toyota still has not improved this from earlier models ... and no Technical Service Bulletin is likely

Have a new Trail. So far I love my 4runner!!! I have always wanted one. Yes it does drive like a 4x4. No crossover car platform here.

That's hilarious, will show this to my wife. Bearded (though not as magnificent as yours), like IPAs (in fact, we homebrew), and also traded in a tacoma for the 4runner which we and the dog are very happy with.

My only problem so far is a slight sunroof rattle.

Looking to buy a 2011 SR5 V6 with 190,000. Will it give be problems right away?

Hi all, I'm very interested to buy a 2011 SR5 V6 with about 190,000 miles. The body and interior are very clean. The maintenance is here and there, not always done at Toyota dealer.

I plan to use this as my daily driver but will I be doing a lot of repairs in the next 10,000 miles or so? I've been doing some research and I can tell that if well kept and maintained they can last a long time - but since I'm buying it from a local dealer as is, is it more likely that I will be buying a car that I will have to spend thousands of dollars on to keep it running?
