I can't say much about the JGC. I do like the styling of them, but I feel that the 4Runner has a more masculine/rugged style to it and that is important to me since it is my vehicle of the two. As far as the other features, my Mom's avalon has the rain sensing wipers and I don't care for those at all. They never use the correct speed as mentioned above.
It would be nice though if the 4Runner had memory seats and mirrors. I'm 6'1" and my fiance is 5', so that would be nice, but I can live without it since I drive it the most. Also, the only thing I wish I had in my SR5 is dual climate control. I miss that and I wish you didn't have to step up to the LTD to have that feature.
However, I bought my 4Runner knowing that it's a Toyota and because I love it as my daily driver. I don't think I could give it up for any other SUV. Plus, I love my rear window and that it rolls down!!

American cars are junk. They're made to be disposable....driven for 5 years until they're paid off then traded in for a new one by some sucker with blind loyalty or the itch for a new ride. I might consider leasing a GC, but I'd NEVER buy one. I've made the mistake of buying a ford pickup and I'll never do that again. Features are nice, but with a truck durability and reliability are the most important features IMO.

haha this is funny, this guy bought a jeep but is unhappy and is thinking he should have bought a 4runner like he originally planned!

PS: they also have a whole post asking who hasn't had problems. People are saying "5,000 miles no problems so far". What a few more thousand!

my neighbor and friend just bought a 2011 JGC limited v8, with every damn option known to man, and it's sweet.....but...
it's 2wd, and doesnt even have a trailer hitch. I don't see it as an SUV for those reasons. It's nicer inside than even a limited 4runner, and has many more options as listed above.
We looked at the 2011 JGC, and i even rented one in vermont for 4 days, and my wife loved the car (I liked it too), but it was too small when compared to the 4runner, and finding a 4wd model (let alone one with a the better 4wd system w/4lo) was near impossible in FL.
The new jeep is as much mercedes as it is jeep. They are really nice.

My brother-in-law has a JGC Overland, and once it hit 80k miles, it just started falling apart. I don't know the model year, but does it matter? It's one of their top-of-the-line trims, falling prey to the same quality problems that continue to dog Chrylser and can be seen by everyone except those who are blinded by brand loyalty.
I love the new commercial for the JGC - they have it racing around some well-worn dirt path, like it's awesome.
Load up some user videos from THIS forum and show me the JGC doing THAT kind of off-roading...

I definitely considered the JGC and went for a few test drives, but just couldn't pull the trigger on it because of quality issues. see this video
Sure they have a lot of nice luxury features, but I had to ask myself, if they are able to put this much high end materials into the vehicle at a comparable price WHERE did they cut costs?? I know where toyota cut their costs....on the jeep I can only assume its the drivetrain components / engineering / quality control....
