Mall Of Georgia Toyota and Roswell Toyota

Hey Peter,

Nice ride :-) Where was that picture taken?

Anyway, I feel like a total a$$. My mom wrecked her Camry....again (not her fault either times) yesterday (and she was not hurt at all) But what was really suprising is the owner of Roswell Toyota, Jerry Gresham, who somehow remember that my mom bought her last 2 Camry's there called her at work when he found out that she totalled her 98 Camry. We only had the car towed there yesterday after the wreck.

He called her at work and asked her how she was doing etc. Never asked if she was going to buy another Toyota. Of couse she is, Toyota's Rule!!. But that was an added bonus to buy from them. They are all really great people over there. I should have NEVER gone to the Mall of Georgia. Only delt with Roswell Toyota.

Anyway, 2 thumbs up for Roswell Toyota. :)

Ok enough blabbing, let's see if the Mall of Georgia get's my car!!

Scott

That sounds like a nice man & a good dealership. I hope your Mom is OK. I guess it is time to buy another car. My parents have a 91 Previa and my Dad never wants to sell, my Mom wants a new car. A guess the best way for Mom to get a new car is to wreck it.

I guess if your 4Runner does not come in you can always go to Roswell Toyota.

The picture was taken in Newfoundland, Canada. The SUV was packed for 5 weeks of camping.

Hey Peter,

Well Finally, my Runner is on Toyota's web site and I take delivery 5/1. Maybe 4/29. But FINALLY!!!!!

Now I will be driving everywhere.

"It's not over till the fat lady sings."

Hopefully you will get it in April. I also read on another discussion that your Mom is OK. But I saw a picture of your old 4Runner getting banged up. At least it wasn't your new 4Runner. Maybe them being late was a good thing.

Maybe we could get together for lunch and I'll take pictures of your new black 4Runner and my old white 4Runner.

:D

Hey Peter,

Well I finally get to see my Runner. Here she is. The really bad part is, I am out of town until May 6th and the truck is coming in Friday....... Uhhgggg. The wait is killing me!!

Scott

Oh yeah......better get that camera ready :D

It is beautiful. Gee, I hope you can get the special finance rates? I guess you be in the "black 4Runner club" now.:D

It seems to be a common misunderstanding that you can special order a vehicle that is made in Japan the same way you can order an American vehicle made in Detroit. Not true -- but dealers will tell you almost anything to keep you on the hook.

Preference ordering is not special ordering. It's simply a way to TRY to get a vehicle that you want from those that have already been manufactured, if it will be manufactured at all. The vehicle does not get custom manufactured for you.

If you want a special vehicle with special options, you're setting yourself up for a lot of frustration and problems. If you get what you want in a reasonable time, consider yourself very lucky.

By the way, I've had good luck with Toyota of Roswell for my last three Toyota vehicles. Just watch out for the Finance Manger and his tricks with numbers. Watch his hands at all times.

Hey ahearn,

I truely understand what you are saying, however, one way to keep a customer happy is to be honest. I've special ordered cars before, Amerian and from Toyota in the past. But when a dealer (sales person) is dishonest, that is the frustrating issue. I was not in a hurry to get my 2003 and I knew it would take time. 5 months is fine, but when I found out that they originally never ordered the car, that was when the trouble started.

Roswell Toyota by far is one of the best dealers out there in my opinion. They are the only ones that will service my 4Runner too. I have always been treated great there and have always been treated with honesty. Now for the Mall of Georgia, that is another story and I will never walk in that dealership again. Bad news all the way around.

I have to chime in here. Just bought my 4runner yesterday. WEnt to Toyota of Roswell first, and could not have been treated worse. The sales person was an idiot. She knew nothing about the car and tried to tell me stories like you only need to change the oil every 50000 miles and when she poped the hood, the two things she pointed out was that all the fluids were clearly labeled and that the engine had valves. We went for a test drive and this idiot gunned it out of the parking lot , yes she floored the damn car with only 4 miles on it . I almost died.
Then when it came time to talk about my trade in, she called some low lever manager guy and they said here is the deal take it or leave it, that was their lowest price. I told him they have it advertised for less on their own website and suddenly he looked all confused and said well let me check it out . Came back with another offer , I told them they had to do better on trade in since I have a carmax offer for 2000 more than what they were offering. He told me to go to carmax and sell mine there and then come back and he will sell me a car. I walked out never having been treated so bad.

Went into sandy springs toyota and off the bat their price on the 4 runner was 2000 less than toyota of roswell. Plus they were super friendly and couldnt have been more helpful. They treated you very professionaly and they did everything to make sure the deal would get done, you spoke with one person , no running to the manager to see what they could do , and they were very upfront. Could not recommend them more. Best sales experience I have ever had. I had no idea they were such a huge dealership, look small from the road , but have a 3 floor parking deck in the back and all sorts of land. Really good people.

She knew the engine has vlalves and you weren't impressed? :p

We bought our 4Runner from the Toyota Mall of GA back in May 2003. I did all the dealing through their internet sales department. The sales part was okay, but my complaint is on their service department (if you can call it that).
1. After one month, we were having problems with the steering wheel vibrating. They said it was the drive shaft and rotated it 180degrees. I just happened to mention this to my brother-in-law mechanic. He said that this hides the problem for a while until it does major damage to the engine.
I took it back to them saying we were having the same vibrating problem. This time they took out the driveshaft, put it on the ground, and it was noticeably warped. Therefore, we have a new driveshaft after only 10,000 miles.

2. Another problem, it took an hour for an oil change. I complained and was able to get a free oil change for my Camry.

3. I was told that my Camry needed new rack and pinion for $750. Took it to NTB. They said it was fine and explained that it would be a gradual problem and even then it is only the power steering.
4. Always try to sell you additional services over the phone.
I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THESE BUMBLING IDIOTS AGAIN!

Man, I would be livid. I bought mine at Milton Martin in Gainesville. The only reason I bought it there is because they had it in stock. I lucked out big time. Give them a call and see what they can do.

I'm w/u. I was thoroughly mistreated at Atlanta Toyota and then was very satisfied w/my experience at Sandy Springs Toyota. Just bought a 04 4runner fr there.

Time for an update on Sandy Springs Toyota. (I bought my 4R there in 2/2005 after an ugly try at Roswell Toyota).

The sale and trade-in went very smoothly and I liked the deal even though in hind sight I would have saved a ton if I had waited just a few months for the price of gas to spike. Wish I could predict the future better.

Just finished some warranty work with Sandy Springs Toyota today and the service department is even better than the sales. I saw a very ugly rude customer there (typical Atlanta jerk) trying to get something for nothing but the dealership folks stayed cool. I would not last long in a customer service role.

I'm from Texas where we drive friendly and act nice, well most of the time...Atlanta is a new lesson everyday.

Mall of Georgia Toyota

I have had good service experiences at this dealer, but they failed miserably at a new car purchase!!! My wife was in the market for a new Camry (07) and we did the spec out process on Edmunds.com to get the ballpark price and then went to Mall of Georgia Toyota (Buford,Ga.) to order exactly what she wanted. The idiot sales staff could not fathom ordering a car with the color and equipment that you desire! Their only interest was selling the stock currently sitting on the lot. Mall of Georgia Toyota is a complete waste of time unless you are the type to settle for cars that you find on lots and don't mind paying more than an educated consumer should!! We left the dealership and drove north 25 miles to Milton Martin Toyota in Gainesville, Ga. , spent 20 minutes negotiating a fair price, locating the precise car the she wanted and had that car in less than a week!!!! Where do you think my future purchases will be made? Also, I drive right by Mall of Georgia Toyota to Milton Martin Toyota for my service now!!

I just recently purchased a 08 SR5 4runner at Cherokee Toyota off of 575. We called about 20 dealers around the state of Georgia. We considered buying from Milton Martin, Marrietta, and Cherokee. Cherokee gave us the lowest price straight up without having to wheel and deal. We knew this was the lowest price because the drive out price was lower than everyone starting price before tax. We went there and there was a small dent on the edge of the door. To make a long story short, we ended up paying cash for it and they fixed the dent where you can't even tell. They said if we could then they would give us the money back no questions asked. Overall we had a great experience with them. Milton Martin and Marrietta were also close 2nds because they also gave us really low prices and were very nice. I hope this helps anyone who is recently about to purchase.
