MillerPKA's Build Thread

I say the mods delete this thread so no one can ever bring it up again!

but then there will always be rumors of that one time that someone said that someone else had said that MillerPKAs 4runner was nearly sold...

itll be like this forums legendary tale...

:infidel:.......... seems like someone wants the attention...keep posting and showing us a roadmap for our vehicles just keep the games to yourself.

I just joined this forum today. So actually this is my 1st post (I haven't seen the place yet to introduce yourself). ScottyC @ AOR told me about the forum and said I should join now that I officially have my 1st 3rd gen.

I had seen this truck for sale on yotatech when I was going to purchase my 1st 3rd. It was over my budget but I kept looking back at it thinking this was similar to the way I would like my truck to be.

Maybe a little tamer since I would DD more than wheel it. I hope you can keep it. Otherwise I just got a 207k 99 sr5 bone stock I would consider trading you but you might have to kick me some cash :biggrin2: j/k

On a more serious note: how do you like those tires? how are the road/trail manners and how did they do in the snow?

These tires rock. As I've told others despite their weight its the best tire I've ever had on here. They're wearing great and handling better. They've been through a good amount since I've moved up here and they're handling great.

No new updates here, new carpet is likely the next thing on my list just don't know when I'll end up doing it. I plasti dipped the rockers for now since the paint was flaking off due to salty roads. That will tide me over until I get it Line X'd and be done with it....but they quoted me $400 just for the 4 doors so I'm waiting on that as well haha. Cleaned the outside and finally washed the undercarriage now she's all shiny

I wasn't sure if this was going to ever be updated but alas I have made a little progress worthy of putting here! Finally got rid of the herculiner and smoothed out my rockers once again, this time I added a red trim in between to accent the change in finish since the Krylon black would not look right right up against the OEM paint. Also got to refinish the whole subframe and undercarriage assemblies. In other words this thing is looking pristine!

I swear I'm going to buy that damn thing one day. Just have to raise the dough. Oh and FWIW DON'T Line-X the doors! I've seen what happens to the metal underneath especially when you're encountering salt. If you want to protect the metal, and have scuff/scratch resistance.

unique! love it...dude you should come wheel with us in May...I'll send you the facebook invite! It's quite a drive for you, but if you wanna stay the weekend I'll be right there with you

If I for some reason haven't sold it by then I will contemplate it I haven't been camping in a while so it may be that time. My bonus comes in this week and if its big enough I'm keeping the 4runner probably but chances are it won't be that big. My next mods were the rtt and awning...tempting huh haha

I've actually pulled a cruel prank on you guys. The trucks not sold and I don't think I will. Still running great and been lurking in the shadows on a new purchase. I won't bring anymore drama about it though I promise :)

From your other post...
Jeez Miller, you are such a drama queen about selling your rig...

I was kidding then, now I'm not :roadkill:

I guess I need to do this justice and present a sign off.

The 4Runner has been sold and new member JTHeath is going to be continuing the build from here on out. To make it short, this place is unrivaled. Great people, great experiences, good personalities and lots of badass trucks. The combination of knowledge base and social hub is unique and strong as hell.

That being said, the Camry is on the chopping block. With the higher ups', and you guys', permission I am actually going to be continuing this thread, but with an FJ Cruiser. Is that even possible on this site? I guess we'll see.

Well, glad to see you came to a final conclusion on this at least (not kidding there, having an open nagging issue like possibly having to sell a vehicle sucks, glad you don't have that weight anymore). Did you just get the FJ to replace the 4R? What made you decide on that? I seem to remember to need to haul loads, is the FJ better for that?

I hope you do stick around. After all, we do have an FJ section.

I got the Camry to accompany the 4runner then I decided it was, at that point, unreasonable to keep both so the 4Runner went. About 2 days after it sold I realized I am an SUV person, so I have started work on trading it in. With the deal I got on the Camry I won't lose a dime :) I am a broker rep for a lot of big liquor brands and frequently need to load down, I find myself nitpicking this in the Camry to preserve the interior and its already annoying.

It's definitely fine with me. :D

What year FJ?

I'm looking at a 2007 but we'll see what happens. Would have it done by next week but I'm going to Raleigh for business Mon-Tuesday then fly out to San Diego Wednesday morning for a week. Surfs up dudes!

well if an FJ is good enough for you Miller-then it's gonna be fine for us eventually when we move up in years.

JT getting an outstanding vehicle!

Appreciate you setting the standard for all of us.

Anybody interested in buying Miller's old rig on the cheap???? How does $4500 sound?

Check it out, for sale on ABQ Craigslist w/a blown tranny and an oil leak > 1997 Toyota 4Runner

I guess JTHeath didn't do much with it after all.
