MillerPKA's Build Thread

Yeah the flare is only a little wider where it meets up with the arb, looks good in my opinion

sorry to bug with another question how much did the body style change from 97 to 99? do you know for some reason i think the 99's look a bit different, just not sure if it's my imagination or not, i'm pretty much following your build thread to a T, ome883's up from with trim packer LC's in the rear and 33x11.5 bfg's with a ARB style bumper,

that's why so many questions wanna commit before i become your clone, lol
it's cool though we won't end up in a faux pas like showing up at a party wearing the same lift ;-)

I'm not aware of any actual changes to the body within 96-02, only thing I think that changes is the flare options and the addition of the scooped hood. Besides that there's the headlights tail lights grille and bumpers. The 99s look different usually because of the grey trim and taller suspension setup, that and new headlights and scooped hood introduced

dude, ur truck is one of a kind, i really really like it man. quick question though, how the heck do you keep your paint looking so good even when u wheel it to the max? i have a black 4r also and i know how hard it is to keep it nice and clean, i have small scratches everywhere and its irritating to look at , especially when the sun hits it at the right angle.

what are the steps you take in keeping the paint so good?

do you use a rubbing compound? then polish? then wax? do you use a orbital waxer?

how about some interior shots now lol wonder how it looks on the inside

It has been a constant effort to keep it looking good, I appreciate the comments! I've used a wide mixture of things but I used a ceramic cream compound to clean the windows, Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to break the grime down and I don't have a preference on wax anymore I just keep trying stuff. Here are some pictures of the fresh interior the seats carpet and panels were all out to dry these last couple days so I have some pretty clean pictures minus the sub in the back

nice man, just clean up the interior a bit and its all good, where did u get those seat covers and how much if you dont mind me asking. b/c i saw some at pep boys but i didnt want to buy and have it not fit, or fit really loose, like baggy pants

**edit**
i see you also have that ACC sticker, forgot you live around here lol, how often do you drive over there? i've never been , i just found out about the place, some guy who sold me tail light guards off craigslist works there and he sent me the website through email. whats the deal over there? any stock 4r work? or is it all fab and build giant 4rs?

Wet Okoles....retail for 300 a pair I believe but my buddy totaled his 4runner last year and I'm a bit of a vulture :bigok:

I had 2 complete axles front and rear yukon cryo'd 4.88s arb air locked and brand new. sold them out in san diego for school money! plus i decided sas was in my cards so no need as i may change the rear out too.

Your truck's look has been completely transformed man, nice work...

Mayyybe one day when my wallet is fatter I can beef mine up like that

Thanks guys, there are still a few things up my sleeve, they may start rolling out in the next couple weeks we'll see.

Figured now was a good time to make a comparison...day I bought her v. yesterday. I fooled my buddy yesterday and showed him only the before picture and told him I was thinking about buying it to start over with it was hilarious

Woah what a huge difference when you first had it in stock form to what it is now. By the way, what kind of roof rack are you using?

Perfect day to give some attention to the 4runner. Decided to go up to Lowe's and do a little hardware shopping and come up with some limb risers. Ended up painting it all black to blend it in, overall pretty happy with it! Cost a little under 50 bucks and 3 hours constructing it best.

Coating all the pieces, in retrospect I should have done this last
