Mod(s) please take note

Recently, one of the Mods moved our "New England B.S.Thread" to the distant outpost known as the "Off Topic" section.

Never mind that most of the 56 pages of that thread are 4Runner related. At least as 4Runner related as the "Colorado BS" thread and the "NJ Pine Barrens" thread and certainly certain more 4Runner related than the Stupid Cars thread and the Official Gym Workout thread.

My request to that Mod is either move our thread back into the General Discussions thread where no one before you seemed to be bothered by its residing there or...

How about we create a "Regional Discussions" forum and locate it right below the "Classics" section and move all regional discussion threads there.

I agree. Tacomaworld has a regional divisions for its BS threads and it's easy to find people around you who love to wheel and shoot the shit.

Make this site more community based and make it easier for us to connect with others locally please!

That is strange. Either all of the 'Regional BS' threads should stay, or they should all be moved. Seems pretty straightforward. Can't think why there should be any inconsistency.

I am not a mod though and didn't complain. I'm rarely here.

I think /General/ should be for 4Runner/Toyota/This-Site related threads.

Off-Topic should be for everything else.

I sympathize with your sense of unfairness though. They should have a blanket policy. Move all or none.

I don't like the regional sections. They are lamely placed buried within the site. They have almost no traffic.

I carefully craft my threads to be pertinent to the 3rd gen section and mostly stay there.

I think a new england BS thread is a good idea and /off-topic/ is a good place.

It is not our fault the regional sections are so lamely buried in the site.

BTW the subscribe button is useless if your thread is in a section where no one visits.

Moving Northeasters even farther away from us southwestern guys , probably because you guys really should be Canadian's. Just kidding there. Seems kinda odd to move the northeast thread, and not the other geographical specific threads. I got no dog in this fight, but someone owes these guys some answers for these guys. How was that northeast dudes.

That is my fault guys. I tried to clean up the general discussion section so the only threads here are 4runner related and the off-topic is for... well... off-topic. I didn't scan through all pages of the general discussion sub forum so only the threads on the first couple pages got moved. also moved the retarded thread about stupid cars but it hurt another mods feelings and he moved it back.

I'll move your thread back here to this sub forum. If there are any issues, shoot me a pm and I'll do what I can.

If it's an old thread, the people that care to post have already done so and should have subscribed to it (my point earlier). Everyone else will skip right over it. It's because we want new members to find us! I leave notes on all the modded 4Runners I come across trying to get them off road with us. If the thread is buried, we might as well say **** it and not have the thread at all!

I agree with SV, fourwd1 and others that feel that the regional threads don't really belong in the General section. I do think that a "Regional Discussion" section would be well used and would be ideally placed right below the "Classics" section.

Build threads belong in the appropriate Gen section and it seems, for the most part, that's what happens.

Not sure what you're beef is MikeBontoft, sounds like you just needed to vent so I hope you feel better.

Back on topic, I think a regional section and a build tread section are a must to organize this chaos.

Here's my issue: I have tried to get the other moderators together on one page so we are all working together for the benefit of this forum and the users. I have sent PM's and made threads hoping the mods would respond. I haven't gotten any response back from any of the moderators. Pretty much everything I do, I am alone on it. With that being said, pretty much everything I do here is due to the feedback given by multiple users.

So, here's what I'll do:
I'll move ALL off topic threads from this subforum (I'll go back 5 pages) to the off-topic section. I will make a temporary re-direct that will last one day so it doesn't clutter this sub forum with week or month long lasting redirects.

If you guys think that there needs to be a re-structure of the sub forums then please post your suggestion in another thread in the off-topic section that is already made. It's called "How to improve this forum" or "How to make this site better" or something along those lines. Admin has been active in replying to that thread and making changes on the forum based on the suggestions provided.

As for the build threads, I'll move them to the proper generation of their 4runner. If they want their build thread posted in the master build thread sticky (in this sub forum) they need to post a reply to that thread and myself or another moderator will modify the original post to add it.

Sounds fair enough.

Can "Off Topic" be placed above "Classifieds"? I ask because the classifieds section seems to auto-expand itself so all it's sub sections are listed. That places anything below it really far down. Just a thought until we can get this "Regional Discussions" section created.

Moderators don't have the admin rights to make changes to the forum layout or functions of the forum. You will have to post a comment in the thread in the off topic sub forum.

The expanded sub forums issue that you're having is (if I'm understanding you correctly) is because of how you are clicking on the forum menu links. See my attached pic below for reference. If you click on the link in the blue box, the sub sub forums will expand and will be listed below the sub forum. If you click the link in the red box, you will only see the links for the sub forums.
