More than 13 weeks and no bumper - Addicted Offroad (AoR)

Just wanted to know if anyone else is still waiting on their Addicted Offroad bumper as well.

Ordered my bumper 7/24/2018 and as of today (10/15) I still have not received any tracking number or updates on my order. When I ordered via phone, I was told they were on a 6-8 week lead time which I agreed to.

I called them about 2 weeks ago and I was told they're order lead time was pushed back because they moved.

At this point, its nearly 12 weeks and I've still not received any updates.

Not really happy thus far. I understand the predicament they're in but if you're trying to be taken seriously as a company, not only do you have to have good product for a good price, but you got to deliver the product !

Update 10/16/18 - Just got a call from Scott at Addicted Offroad telling me my bumper should be done this Friday(10/19/18) and shipped out. Excited to finally see this thing.

Update 10/19/18 - Well it's Friday, and no updates from AoR. Going to call them sometime Tuesday or Wednesday.

Update 10/26/18 - Another week, and no updates. (end of week 13) Called them (no answer) and left a message, thus far nobody has got back to me.

Update 10/29/18 - Sent Scotty at AoR an email over the weekend, and what do you know it, I got an email reply this morning WITH A TRACKING NUMBER !!! WOOHOO!!!. Extremely excited

Update 10/30/18 - After a very long (nearly 14 weeks) time, my bumper has FINALLY arrived. Excited to test fit and get it mounted sometime next week. Will be posting up an 3rd install guide and build guide.

I doubt it. Its been almost 12 weeks now (3 months).

If I knew it was going to take this long to get a bumper, I would have paid the extra $200 for another company and just gotten my rig all ready to go.

If I knew it was going to take this long to get a bumper, I would have paid the extra $200 for another company and just gotten my rig all ready to go.

Call the credit issuer, some have very long dispute windows when goods are not delivered. Visa is over a year, for example. You can get some good info from the Pelfrey bankruptcy thread where various cards and disputes are discussed.

Just call your CC company and start a dispute. As long as you put something on record before the charge back deadline they should cover you going forward if there's issues like not receiving your purchase, etc...

It's a custom piece made to order from a company that just moved buildings. Instant gratification doesn't exist when getting something fabricated. I'm 9 weeks in to what was supposed to be a 6 week lead time for a set of ADS shocks. When I ordered my Prinsu, I was told 8 weeks, it took 12. You have to take lead times with a grain of salt. Instead of complaining about it on the internet try calling them again and seeing what the hold up is. If they stop communicating with you, then you have a reason to complain.

I've ordered custom made things before and I understand that these lead times are just rough estimates, but when a 6-8 week estimate is now over 12 weeks you get worried.

I've called and emailed them multiple times, thus far only getting 1 call back which was last week which confirmed that my bumper was going to ready and shipped on Friday.

I'm just here documenting my experience and seeing if others are in the same boat. People need to know what they are getting themselves into, so I feel thats its necessary to document these things. For good or bad, the information should be public.

I will keep updating this page as time goes on, in the off chance that someone else experiences the same thing.

I totally agree and appreciate the info. One of my winter projects is going to be a front bumper. I've been researching options and customer feedback. Knowing which vendors to avoid is just as valuable as finding out who the reliable ones are.

Yeah, I wish I had this type of information when I was initially looking at bumpers.

All the manufacturers I was interested in have roughly 6-8 week lead times, so I wasn't worried about it, but knowing actual customers experiences is incredibly valuable.

Calling them today or tomorrow for an update.

when i ordered from hefty fab. lead time was easily double what they posted

order from proline4x4 , lead time was also double what was posted.

ordered from pelfrey, leadtime was delayed.. 4 months. but i consider myself luck to have gotten something

Many businesses unfortunately will knowingly tell the customer shortened lead times just to get the order. It's good to find out on the forums which ones fall into this category. There is no excuse for unanswered emails and phone calls however. I too am shopping for a bumper. Thanks for the updates.

This.... my Addicted bumper took 4 months and my shrockworks rear bumper took 4 months. A lot of these smaller shops don't have a front office dedicated to answering emails and picking up phone calls. Scott always answered my phone calls and always gave a straight up answer.

Damn, at least you got something from Pelfrey !!!

I wonder what others have experienced with other companies. Would be interested to start a thread to get people inputs on what they've ordered, time estimates and actually delivery.

Some of these companies are repeat offenders. They may be good fabricators and sell a good product but are poor business folks.

I know ARB usually has them in stock, but I definitely don't like the look of them(hence I went with AoR).

I currently have open orders at C4 and SSO. C4 is past delivery date but thats okay b/c they are communicating with me and I have another month or so left of protection from my CC. SSO is still within their delivery date.

Here are the companies that I've dealt with and have been happy: ARB, RCI, SCS, White knuckle offload, toytec, Rago, expedition outfitters, sparks toyota, Witts end, rangler nets, and burtman inc.

Here is the companies that I didn't like dealing with (as in threaten them with a chargeback to get what I ordered): Prinsu and Pelfreybilt.

Here is a company that I wasn't terribly impressed with although may order again in the future: Dobinson (aka Dobinson Mike)...mainly because the product he sells kind of sucked and my order ended up at someone's house in florida (while it was suppose to go to me in San diego). He made good on it though, but man it was a headache, and the product I ordered sucked donkey balls.

Wow, thats a lot of good info.

I don't like bashing on companies, but having this info public is always good to have.

There's a reason ARB has become #1 in off-road. Not only do they build great products, but they also deliver on time !
