You have two cables, each connected to the stock headlight bulb. Remove your stock light bulbs and connect either one of those cables to #2. It doesn't matter which one (I chose the right side). Then, connect #1 to #3. That way, the signal from the stock headlight cable controls the relays so your lights turn on/off when they are supposed to.

I drilled mine because that's how I wanted to do it.
I didn't find it to be "much more work" at all, rather easy IMHO!
Drilled mine toowith a janky drill bit, THEN realized I didn't *have* to :lmao:
I got my HIDs installed and looking to adjust the aim - however it's not clear what you mean by taking off plastic cover and adjusting knobs. Can you post a pic or two of what I should be looking for? Thanks

Big thanks to [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION], [MENTION=97032]hearno[/MENTION] and everyone else that did the leg work on this. Installed the Morimoto HID kit and LED fogs yesterday. Piece of cake install except for me thinking the dust covers needed 1-1/4" holes. Have no idea where I got that size from. Too much plumbing recently maybe? Oh well, easy to fix and the 4300k lights look great. Thanks folks!

can you post your final wiring configuration please. i just did this kit also and its not easy to find a good place for the ballast and the relays due to the fact that the wires are so darn short...ive rewired it a few times to try and get the best and cleanest installation...ive tried under the plastic cover, in front of the radiator, behind the radiator and stuck to the plastic cover underneath but don't think it will stay with the 3m tape...did you keep the relays by the battery or vice versa. i want to make it as clean and hidden as can be.
BTW those who say adding an hid to the standard projectors doesn't work well i would beg to differ as it gave me a wide swath of light and didn't even have to adjust the beams. I haven't been flashed at all. plus i added the TRS LED fog lights which adds to the wideness of coverage. it is well worth it IMO. I just need ideas on cleaning the wiring harness situation. its tough to find where to bolt stuff to. and i found a lot of unused threaded holes, anyone have an idea what can go in there as i can use that for mounting also. thanks in advance

Help needed: just installed The TRS kit. The drivers side light turns on reddish then blueish then it cuts off. Meanwhile the passenger light stays lit. Does this sound like a bulb issue or something else? I did have some difficulty with the prongs on the connection from light to relay.

TRS has excellent customer service and will walk you thru the install and help diagnose your issue.
Best to give Matt or one of his techs a call first thing in the AM.

Try swapping bulbs side-to-side. If the prob moves it's related to bulb. If it doesn't move swap the ballasts.

Update: On the drive to work today I turned them on and they both lit. Maybe it was because when testing last night I didn't start the engine and the ballasts weren't getting enough power? I have no idea. Fingers crossed that they work from now on. Now to tuck away the relay somewhere...

I can't really give much for an answer on the bulb color difference but as far as your second problem, it could be a faulty relay.
Pop off the relays and switch em around, they unclip and tug on it to release it from the harness. If the problem switches to the driver side then its a relay. If so, i have a spare relay in the garage i can mail you since i just put in a new set.
