Most Miles on 1 Tank of gas?

Very minimal MPGs are realized with any type of intake mod.

You guage sounds just like mine as it seems like I can drive for quite a while with the fuel light on and still only squeeze in maybe 15.5 at the most. I also get 16-17mpg.

I've done as well as 280-300+ on one tank. Granted, the gas light was on for the last 40 miles. I usually average between 220 and 250.

Thanks for the info (and sorry about resurrecting what appears to have been a dormant thread). I suppose the fuel gauge being a bit screwy is OK as long as it's consistently screwy. It sounds like I may not need to get the better filter and intake as the 4runner is sporty enough for my taste stock. I might just get the trueflow fllter because I have heard many good things, including that it extends the life of the engine.

Recently got 265 out of a tank...Im on 285/75/16 Goodyear MTR's, Deckplate and ISR'ed.

The best I've gotten so far is a little over 300 miles.
It only used a little over 10 gallons of gas for that. When I fiqured out what my mpg was it was just over 24 mpg. The best tank I ever gotten (I have the recipt to prove it). I normally average around 21 mpg.

I averaged 20.7mpg on a highway trip 245mi round trip this weekend. Averaged 70-80mph (mostly 70+) and didn't stomp on it.

Also calculated 17.5mpg city driving, but I drive very conservatively around town and don't punch it or accelerate super hard, seems pointless going light to light anyway.

I have a '96 4x4 auto w/135k mi. Needless to say I'm very pleased w/that mileage.

I beleive S/C stands for Super Charged.

I filled up yesterday, my 1st full tank fill-up and drove alittle over 100 mile's and used just a tad more than a 1/4 of a tank of gas

Super easy, piece o' cake. Mmmm, cake... oh sorry. I too just recently got my runner (finally) and installed the trueflow filter after reading about it on here. 5 minutes start to finish. I haven't ran it enough to tell you yet if I got any mpg gain, but I can tell just by looking at the difference in the two that it's gonna' keep a lot more crap out of my motor. That's worth the $45 right there.

Ugh... 200 city, 300 freeway. What is with all this 17.5mpg city stuff? the EPA doesn't even rate it that high....

I can get 20 on the freeway if I stay under 65. I can get 14 city if I drive slow.

LOL don't hate my truck for its mileage!

If you drove around town with me, you'd understand how I get 17.5mpg in the city. I never stomp on it, I accelerate very smoothly and slowly, and I have a 3mi drive to work so I'm never in a hurry. It takes me a while to run the tank down and I've now had 17mpg averages in the city over 5 different tanks of fuel.

Just so you know I'm not making it up, I also drive a '05 Lancer Evo VIII, and I punch it when I drive that...and get low-teens MPG as a result.

I have driven hard in the city once to see what would happen, and I got 14mpg or so for that tank.

306 miles on 17.6 gallons = 17.38mpg.
23.5 miles from time gas light came on to fill up.
Combination of City & highway miles.

325miles all city, no a/c and commute was like 5-10 miles. always kept rpm at 1.5k (35-46mph). lasted me 3weeks all work no play. 1998 4runner w/ exhaust and intake mod.

Lowest 215miles with a/c, traffic, 8-20 mile commute, and plenty of speeding

just did the deckplate and w/o it and minimal hwy/mostly suburbia I've been seeing an honest 17 flat.

I'm just starting on my first real tank with the deckplate mod so we'll see.

im lifted and much heavier than stock with larger tires and i still manage to get around 260 (uncorrected) with 70% highway and not punching it all the time. around town i seem to gert around 240 ish
