most noticable exterior mods that make you go "woah, that was nice"

hi gang, I have a 2004 4Runner v8 limited - pretty bone stock and just a daily driver for the family. Don't do any off-roading at all and we live in FL with no snow, etc, so I really haven't had the need to do any mods.

I think this summer is going to be the time for a new truck purchase. Driving the 4Runner for so long, I've been looking around at something new, but nothing sees to be catching my eye. The Durango's are nice, but I read about possible durability issues. I wanted to like the new Pilot, but I'm not sure it's a guys truck. We drive past a white 4runner the other day and it caught my eye. Something about it was really really nice and it stood out.

So I was curious, maybe I just go for another 2016 Limited and do a couple mods to it? I really like the black wheels. I think an aftermarket grill would really make it stand out. Basically, I think I'm looking for something that looks like a TRD Pro but has the comforts of the Limited.

Any suggestions on some reasonable mods for a in town vehicle that would make it stand out over all of the stock trucks?

Most noticeable and great looking?

1. Rear tire carrier
2. Front bumper with winch, and if you are not wheeling it much go with the clean insert section.
3. Nice rack with light bar
4. Small lift and slightly bigger tires

Sorry, its all 4x4 stuff, but its what makes you go whoa for sure!

Is there some good value in the stock wheels and tires, if you sell them fairly new off the truck? Can you add a couple inch lift to get a good look without affecting the road driving?

IMHO Number one would be lift kit , wheels then tires. When I had my 2005 lifted before I got tires and wheels it got lots of comments and attention just being lifted and everything else was stock. I did add wheel spacers also . It really changes the look.

Yep that's pretty much the going rate. I lifted my 2015, 700 miles after I bought it. Sold the stock tires for $450 here in Denver. Then I bought another set of Trail rims for my trailer build, paid about $375 for a set from a local dealer that had a lot of extra sets.

For a Limited, I don't think there is a lot you can do without going hog wild*. Maybe a nice set of wheels that doesn't clash with the chrome.

*There are a few guys that have done TE exteriors on their Limited trucks. It looks amazing and gives you all of the toys. You are looking at $3k or so by the time you buy everything and paint, though. I could never pull the trigger to do that on my old SR5.

303... do you remember who you git them from? I'm in the Denver metro and will be needing a new set of tires in the near future.

biggest difference for me was a set of new all terrain tires. You mentioned no offroading but it makes a HUGE difference in the overall feel and look of the truck. Next would be lift.
