MV-50 onboard compressor install(images fixed)
First off i would like to thank [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] for his original writeup. As you all know the importance of airing down/airing back up after hitting the trails, an on-board compressor was at the top of my first mod list. I didn't want anything super expensive since it will only be used occasionally, and I have no need to power air tools. So I went for what seems the most favorable and reliable budget compressor in the off-road world (MV-50). Out of the box it was quite impressive for the price. So I used the info on antman's build page as a guideline to get it on board. The problem is the leg/stand on the MV-50 isn't wide enough to to bolt onto the available studs in the engine bay. I tried to widen the holes on the stand for the MV-50 but I felt the remaining metal holding the compressor to the studs wouldn't be sufficient. So this is what I did.
(from the passenger side fender) the 2 mounting studs are seen, I also sanded down the threaded empty screw hole to relocate the maf ground and compressor ground. the screw hole was filled with junk in this photo but its there. (the darker silver area)
I raided home depot and bought a couple short nuts and bolts, and a nice ridged metal plate i found in the hardware section. The plate was a little over sized but it worked no problem. I drilled 2 holes to mount on the studs and 2 more to mount the bracket i un-screwed from the bottom of the compressor.
Added a couple thick rubber and metal washers to the studs to absorb some of the vibration.

Thankfully it went in like a glove with about 2/3" clearance from the firewall. It feels very solid and does not vibrate at all during operation. I hard wired everything in and cleaned up all the wires and its been great so far. I spent a little over $60 for the compressor and about $10 in parts for the install.
