During part I, I also installed an amp under the passenger's seat to power the speakers. I don't have pics but I took that amp out yesterday and have moved it to the the back where the sub usually sits.

Basically, everything I did was copied from members here, but I'll post all the pics so people can see how I did it.

I'm also putting my sub in. I couldn't think of a good place to put the sub's amp so I bolted it to the side of the sub box (easier to steal :happy bda thiefs).

My little twist/innovation is to put a plug on the sub so it's easier to take out when I need to haul something in the back of the 4runner.

Okay, it took longer than I planned but it's mostly done. Everything is installed and works. Now I just need to change the way the sub hooks up to the rest of the car so it looks better. I blew the fuses on the sub yesterday and need to replace those now too. I think they blew when I hooked up power and ground, so hopefully there's nothing crazy disconnected inside the amp. Anyways, here are pics of the install. I followed castulucci's tutorial exactly, for taking apart the back. Here's pics of the highlights.

Did you install carpet padding in the rear quarter panel before installing the amp? It looks like you didn't have the factory amp or sub to remove so I am guessing that the corner was empty to begin with?

I didn't have anything in there previously. No amp, no sub. So I put some carpeting for sound deadening and also to pad the amp and board. The amp and one of the crossovers is resting on the wheel well and i wanted to add a little padding to keep them from cracking or getting damaged when I drive over bumps. I didn't glue in the carpeting; just stuffed it in there.
