My Custom Shifter

My 4Runner: '94 SR5 w/3L v6, 4wd & 4wd, 1 month ownership

Here's a pic of my shifters. The knobs that were there were tore up and sucked, so I made my own with help of my Dad. I purchased two Birch Doll Heads, one is 2" and the other is 3". I measured and marked a drill bit for drilling the perfect depth. My Dad drilled it out for me and then we used his tap and tapped threads in the wood. I then put 10 coats of MinWax Polyurethane and here it is.

What is the 2nd shifter is for?

Pardon my pittyful knowledge, but what is the 2nd shifter for. I have a '03 4Runner and I dont have one

LOL, I can see the new clutch pad I had to purchase ($5 at Toyota, not bad). The old one was gone when I got it. Although I don't use the clutch much (as a teen, my Dad taught me to shift clutchless), but I wanted to put a pad on there so it looked nice. The bare metal looked bad.

Next project - tomorrow morning I'm pulling the dash out to replace the Toyota panel under the stereo with a birch panel to match the shifters.

Once that is completed, then all the panels that hold the elec window controls get replaced with Birch panels.

The next few months will keep me busy.

I don't think I would feel comfortable to shift clutchless most of the time..

It is simple to shift clutchless just have to know when to shift in the RPM range.
