Love it! Funny thing is I've been planning the same thing for a month or 2 just don't have the balls to cut into my bumper. Youtube is blocked at work did you make it bolt on or just weld it on?

Both technically. I welded tabs to the frame and bolts to that. I'll be changing the design for V2.0 to be fully bolt on. As-is, it's a bit harder to get on and off.

As-is, not without taking the entire bumper cover off. I want to re do it so it's more of a 2 piece bracket so I could take the single parts off without removing the full bracket. I DD this every day and had no intention to remove though.

I will trade 4 runners with you... lol... and you can fab up rev 2.0 on mine... send me .DXF files for the brackets and i will get them laser cut.

Maybe I missed it in the video but it looked like you could remove the tire and gas swing out there would just be the two arms sticking out?

Yes sir. I greased up the bearings and wouldn't want to deal with that clean up for the little bit of weight saving on a DD. Heck, I leave my tent on and drawers/fridge in 24/7 haha.

The dust caps are the biggest pain in the butt though... I have to taper the sleeve a hair to get the dust cap to go in. Shaving it down more and having the cap help by a set screw might solve that issue on speed though.

Nice job on this design! I would love to have some swing arms on the back, but cant quite justify the full bumper. Now, if the design was slotting the hinge and arm assembly into a standard 2" hitch receiver welded in the corners, I would be on that in a heartbeat.

Hmm.. maybe its time I learned how to weld.

Many days and I finally finished my v1.0 of my rear carrier set up. I did this on my 4Runner, but it can apply to most any vehicle. I have many ask me about it, so I made a video! I still want to make some improvements, but that will be for v1.1 :thumb:
