my old tires, yes they were all cut the same.
I did not cut the new ones, as they come with lots of grooves, and siping already.
I will run them a few times and see how they do. if they aren't up to snuff, I will take the knife to them, and see what I can do.

went up and found a bit of snow on Friday after Christmas.
we both got new 42's. this was our first trip on them.
the group.
there was 2 others with us, but they had already turned around and went home.
I slid off the road a bit, and into a tree. it decided to come with me.
then I slid way off the road. this was a lot worse than what the pics show.
the tires/suspension worked great. no issues there. the engine on the other hand.. carb issues. it was running bad all day.
ive got another run this Friday, so hopefully it will get fixed. its at the shop now getting checked out, so far, he cant find anything wrong, except its running LEAN.

I don't. on the snow/ice, steering isn't too bad. get it on dry ground, and its a real bear!
I do have a hydro-assist sitting here to be put on, but I decided to not do it. I didn't want to worry about breaking the knuckle studs. im still running the stock 4 bolt knuckles, with no intention of upgraded to the six shooters, as I have a D60 in the works.
its pretty much the only kind of wheeling I do anymore.

I ran a 6" ram and a KRC cast pump on my buggy with 42" TSL SX II's and I never had a problem with stock knuckles. The DAN FOSS steering valves work the best also.

Ive got a surplus center ram, the diff mount, tie rod mount, and my box is tapped. just need to have some lines made...

when I bought my RAM, I got the 8", to use on the D60, and built some spacers to limit the travel down to 6".
I just never got it mounted.
initially I thought I was going to have oil pan clearance issues. as it turns out, I think it will JUST clear. but then when I went to the new larger tires, I figured I was taxing the stock knuckles as it was, and decided against using the RAM.
honestly, it does steer very well, but there are those times when im bound up in a hole or something, and it wont steer unless im moving.
the hydro assist would help, but I also fear breaking crap. I just need to hurry up and get the 60 finished!

the housing is stripped, and at the machine shop waiting to be cut down.
I have to buy gears, bearings, kingpins, and steering arms still.
ive already got the locker.
im using a dana 70 rear, so yes.
honestly, the hold up is the 70. I haven't even touched it yet. and the locker is going to be $1500ish.
its just a matter of cash flow at this point...

Yep, if its not on the street which I don't think your rig is I would Lincoln lock it. That is also how my buggy in the avatar was done. Never any trouble from that either. Wheeled it pretty hard for 3 years.

not Toyota width. they will be 63-64" WMS. so still quite a bit wider than stock.
I want selectable. there have been times where being able to unlock the rear would have been nice. if I cant get a selectable, I will spring for a spool.
I wont weld it. I will have way to much money into this project to be cutting corners. Its just not worth the risk to me. plus the parts are just way too expensive.

yep, its time to pull the engine and do some work!
I don't think the gopro picks it up too well, but its making a pretty good tapping sound, plus its just getting tired. it was working very hard on that section.
I don't think this road sees much traffic. it was pretty tight in places.

Just got finished reading through your build thread, it was an awesome read, had to keep at it till I was caught up! Very impressed by your build, look forward to seeing the 1 tons go underneath.

yes, those pics are in the Yakima canyon, ive got some property up there.
