my Trail

Hi all,

Well... I've had a couple of Jeeps, a couple of Discoveries, still have a couple of 88" Series Land Rovers....

But my Sierra recently died, and instead of picking up another truck, decided to give Toy a try...

I've had numerous friends w/ them, am familiar w/ FJ-40's, 1stgen4R's, Tacos of multiple generations, and we've got a fleet of 4thgen4R's at work; but this is the first Toy that I've actually bought for myself.

The local dealerships didn't have many 4R's at all, just a Ltd here or a SR5-Premium there; but I really just wanted a plain Trail; they found one for me, before it even left Japan, have been waiting 4 weeks for it to get here... kept harassing my buddy at the dealership for updates from Taraha to Portland, then by rail to West Memphis, then by truck to here... I was off the day it arrived; when he let me know the truckload had arrived a bit after noon, I was down there within 5 minutes; had it home before dinner, had to wait for the check-in/inspection and wash/wax/detailing before I could leave.

No options, really... it had floormats, and they don't come without navigation anymore, but otherwise, just a gray Trail, just like I wanted...

Hope it lasts me, plan is for it to be my commuter throughout SWVA for quite a few years.... (I'm a geologist, and find myself quite a ways from the pavement rather often....)

I take delivery of my new 2016 4RUNNER trail (with no options as ordered) Wednesday in the same color. Looking forward to dressing it up some. This is a great place for good ideas!
