Up date!! I love the wheel/tire choice. I had a set of those tires on my cummins but they didn't last long. I drive very aggressively and it's a manual trans. I also was towing a bunch back then. I'm going with the same tire size on my runner. Looking good but........

Looks unreal! Those wheels make a huge difference to the overall look of the truck. I can't wait to see it with the AOR plate bumper as well.

Thanks Brandon, it does look a lot more in-line with the vision i had/have for it now. Never knew the wheels and tires would change the look so much.

Wowza! We got some serious updates going on here! Props man, not only is it so "sexy & flexy" that's one hell of a 4Runner you've built & glad to see you enjoy on it the trails too.

Those wheels are killer, very good taste you have in all of your mod decisions.

Thank you very much! I've put a lot of time and effort into turning it into what it is today, and countless hours spent going back and forth on mods and upgrades. And i still have redone many aspects more than once trying to get things exactly how i want them. It's been difficult at times to keep her "sexy and flexy" while out on the trails and putting everything through its proper paces.

Nate, like I mentioned there on flickr - that new WIDE stance looks deadly. I was wondering how much you had to trim upfront. Looks like a little bit of work but worth it from looks alone. Not to mention the added width is always nice for stability. I was really digging that CBI upfront but if its functionality isn't up to par, then I can see why your swapping it out. I think it's going to look great with the new bumper and all the black trimmings. Awesome job man, and congrats on the mag. article.

She's fat in all the right places now. :eyebrows: The trimming and work to keep rubbing to a minimal wasn't too bad but i was pretty nervous about cutting, removing, and welding the metal in there. I really appreciate all the kind words Addison, I know everyone tells you but the Duster and Mr. Cruiser are an inspiration to all of us here! :bravo:

Looks sick man. Glad to finally see you post up about everything that was going on. I love how the 295s line up just perfect with the limited fender flares. One more thing you could try and do is to get the front tires off the firewall is to get an alignment with the caster pushed as far forward in spec as possible. This is one thing I have yet to try, and you would probably have better results since you have the aftermarket UCAs. Looking great as always. Can't wait to see the Addicted all mounted up. I think the switch to black will give it an even better look.

Thanks Mikhail, you helped give me the push i needed to go above and beyond the norm of 285s to the awesome 295s! I am going to try another alignment after i replace my Inner TREs whenever that may be. Ive got some pretty pressing matters weighing on me that is keeping me from spending the time and funds on the 4runner that i wish i could.

Man, there was a lot to digest in those couple of posts. I'm surpised to see that you're going back to black on all the accessories, but I can't blame you (see my rig). The situation reminds me of the "grass is always greener" saying because I look at your rig and I usually start imagining what my bumpers would look like color matched. Yours will look sharp, esp. with the lighter wheels, which look great BTW.

The color of the wheels really pushed the rig down the black armor road and i am liking it, ironically though, after a day or dirt roads and wheeling, all the black is back to looking grey and silver. lol

My one complaint about the SCS wheels was always the backspacing, at 4.5" on most of their offerings. I'm a huge fan of 4" BS, because it works so beautifully, but 3.5" is something I'd consider, putting them in the mix if I ever decide to change it up.

I couldn't agree more on BS, i would have ideally liked to have had the F5s in a 4.0 or even a 3.8 but the work to fit and wheel the 3.5s makes the stance and width worth it and scary enough to others to keep from being too commonplace.

Nice work on the clearancing job, and THANK YOU for taking some pics of the 1/2" body lift. That guy has sold a ton of those things and there are zero decent pictures of the results prior to the ones you posted. I know I kind of spurred your purchase with my post about the CBI rear, and now your post has now spurred me in the same direction. I'll send you a PM with a few more questions.

RE the CBI front, I understand what you mean about the clearance issues. My ARB has some similar shortcomings. The rocks completely removed the powder coat on the leading edges of the shackle mounts while I was in Moab. It forces me to begin steep obstacles at a slight diagonal angle sometimes. I think it's a wise spot to place them from a strength perspective because they are right in line with the frame, but if that keeps you from taking the right line it just increases the likelihood you'll have to actually use them to make a recovery. I agree with you, it's just better to have the clearance.

Good update. I appreciate the insight and reviews, and look forward to seeing the rig with it's new front end.

The low mounts were definitely causing me to take lines that were less than ideal and were starting me off in a more off camber spot than if i weren't worried about burying the mounts into solid rock and unloading the front tires. I understand and am okay with the limits of the chassis and frame setup of an IFS rig, but it just seems silly and counter productive to run a bumper that while better than stock was still impeded me when it didn't have to because of it's design.

The runner is looking great with the new wheels and tires. Looks mean! And its almost as wide as mine now haha. :eyebrows:

I'm digging the decision to paint the armor black and and look forward to seeing the final product of Scotty's tube plate hybrid. He does put out some great products. Hence my decision on armor for a couple of my rigs now.

I have been contemplating the decision on whether I will need to look at a 1/2" body lift "IF" I ever decide to go with 35's. Although, I will still have to modify quite a bit more if I go that route. Its good to see how it looks and the gap it creates with the bumpers. Is Scotty building the new front with a 1/2" built in?

ALMOST! :caked: I love it, i really do. The new wheels/tires/stance makes me think "Damn, she's sexy" everytime i walk up to it to go somewhere. RE: the AOR bumper, its getting there, Scotty and I have had a few lengthy talks and he seems to be going through some growing pains that almost all good companies see when they really get popular and have to hire on more employees. I can 100% speak for him and every other entrepreneur out there when i say good help is hard to find, even harder to find help you can trust.

The 4Runner looks great with the new wheels and tires, it's amazing what a difference they make in the overall look and attitude of the rig! I'm sure it will look even better with that new bumper!

You'll just have to wait and see! Nah, more than likely the LED bar will hang from the center hoop rather than on top of the smaller bar just infront of the winch. Waiting on my new bar now to get it ironed out.

Thanks Jed, plenty of photos to come. I got these tires with tire certs from Discount so when/if i cut one down it'll be replaced for the price of another tire certificate.

No reason for you to be jelly! You just got your own set of SCS wheels and CBI Hybrid rear ordered if i'm not mistaken.

So far i really like them, they are pretty soft but have been holding up really well in the rocks. Ive seen a very minimal amount of chipping and cutting on them after a few trips out. I have noticed they grip really well around 16psi, a lot better than at 20. I DD them so they have seen quite a bit of street use already also, Im running 40 psi in them front and rear and getting a nice even wear on them so far, they are smooth and not too noisy. Granted they are still fairly new, the are quieter than my BFG KMs that i replaced. You dont feel each lug hit the ground when going slow like a lot of the MTs available. I am also running the 295/75/16 and they are a big, beefy looking tire. Ive had them in heavy wet snow and was impressed with how they tend to dig in and dig forward at a steady pace. For the price you really cant beat them. They did take a bit of weight to balance, all of mine took 6-8 ounces on my SCS F-5s.

I wish i was going to make it to Texas this year, I'm deploying for the next six months leaving towards the end of March.
