Nav & Upgraded Stereo add-on a TE?

I took some time today and drove both LE and TE models. The LE is clearly a smoother ride and slightly less body roll but nothing that bothers me at all.

Bottom line is when I let myself get out of analytical mode, it was the TE that truly "speaks" to me...just feels better/more natural to me and of course looks a he*l of a lot better IMHO.

Here's the thing - I want leather and navigation and upgraded sound system. I don't care much about the dual climate, keyless entry and start, or full time 4x4 in the LE but I do want the leather and nav.

Yeah, I know, not very "trail" oriented wanting those comfort/convenience features, but that's what appeals to me.

SO - I know I can add leather (~$1,500?) but what is out there in a top-quality nav and stereo upgrade that I could add aftermarket (~$1,500 too?)? AND added in seamless way...looking like it came as original equipment. Can backup sensors be ADDED or a backup camera as well?

Or - Is the way to go the Toyota system - IF the JBL is available in a TE only. The car salesman today said "You can't get a TE with nav". I swear, these guys who do not know their products really annoy me. Toyota's site shows the entune setup and nav as an option of course...but I am not excited about that entune stuff.

You can get '12 TEs with Nav, but not with JBL. 10-11 TEs with NAV had JBL, which is why I found a leftover 11 instead of getting a 12.

Also, if you get a TE with KDSS, you'll have better handling and less body roll than the LE with XREAS.

So are there top-notch aftermarket Nav/Stereo setups that install in these things and look stock or at least exceptionally professional that you know of?

Yes, I'd get the TE with KDSS for sure.

App Radio?

There are plenty of after market systems that can be installed. They all require replacing the radios silver trim (about $40) and some skill and possibly adapters to hook to the steering wheel controls. However...
The main failing point with all the Toyota stock radios are the speakers and if you replace the radio, you should replace the speakers. This may (in most cases does) require an adapter for the new speaker.

Lucky if you can get a trail with basic stereo only. The JBL premium with nav is like $4000+ and ain't that good. Steering wheel controls and factory look are great but sound is decent at best. Speakers are really cheap. Tuning is actually pretty good but funky (to compensate for the crappy speakers). Almost any decent aftermarket stereo and speakers will blow it away for less $$$. KDSS is fantastic. Definitely worth it. Here in hawaii TE only comes with premium stereo, sunroof and kdss. No leather option. Can get Katzkens that are nicer than LE leather for about $1300 to $1800 but I ended up liking the waterproof clothe. All 4runners rock but TE simply kicks ass!
