Need advice re Nokia 928 and Entune...

Hi everyone -

I got a new 2012 4Runner in October of 2012. It has Entune. When I got the vehicle, I had a Blackberry. I paired the Blackberry with the Entune, and everything worked just fine. I could use the phone, and if I selected the Bluetooth streaming audio, it worked also.

A few days ago, I got a Nokia Lumia 928. I paired it with the Entune...easy as pie. Here's the problem. 99% of the time, when I turn the vehicle on, the radio will switch over from FM to the Bluetooth Audio. I don't have any songs or anything loaded onto the phone, and the radio switches over to BT somewhere between 10 seconds and one minute after starting the vehicle. It does not seem to matter what mode (locked, unlocked) the phone is in.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent the radio from switching over to BT Audio every time I turn the vehicle on??

Not entirely sure with that specific device, however I've noticed with Android devices, that when it connects it can launch a default music player, regardless of if there is any music to play. I found a setting in either the specific music player app or the Sounds setttings on the phone to disable "Launch music app on connect". May think its connecting to a headset and using this feature to switch to bluetooth.

Worth a start to see if you notice any apps "start" when you connect to bluetooth.

I couldn't find a work around when I had the Nokia 920. It was annoying and there isn't really a way to disable that. It would have been nice in WP8 if you can configure that, but unfortunately WP8 isnt as customizable as it should be at this moment. I ended up getting an iPhone 5 out of contract and it works fine with the truck now.

Thanks everyone. I can't disable BT audio without disabling the phone also. I'll just learn to live with it (along with the loss of "physical" keys)...

I was having this happen with my iPhone and found that going into the Entune settings for blue tooth and disconnecting the phone for music stopped the truck from starting playback from the phone when turned on.
