So I'm thinking of trading in my 2012 camaro ss for a 2014-2015 4runner. I had a 2004 sr5 before I got the camaro and I loved it now I want another one. The only thing stopping me at this point is worry about if the 2016 model will be revamped or if a new generation will be coming out in the near future. Does anyone know anything about the 2016 models or any changes?

I just drove my sons Cadillac CTS-V at an auto cross event last weekend. Those cars and your Camaro are amazing. When I rode with my son the first time around the track it was amazing what the car can do with auto cross tires on it and 400 horsepower. Are you willing to give up all that power for a relatively slow 4runner? It would be best if you could have both vehicles. I spun the Cadillac out 2 times getting on the gas to hard in a corner and breaking the tires loose. What a blast.
Oh don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro and the power but I don't like being profiled and pulled over monthly either LOL. I also miss messing around on trails and doing outdoorsy things with my old 4Runner. Not to mention the 5th gen 4runners are FAR more luxiourious on the inside and have many more features than my Camaro. It's a hard decision to make which is why I wanted some of your opinions.

Most of us on here are pretty satisfied with the 4R's performance, but some are not. So be sure you conduct a thorough test drive. There is *z e r o* aftermarket performance product, excepting a gear change.

I just traded in my Dodge Challenger for a 2015 4Runner Trail Edition and have no regrets...but I still have my 2007 Mustang GT to speed around in ;-)
You should do what would make you happier. If you enjoy the trails get the Runner. If you have a need for the Camaro keep it.

Which is a shame...I would love to get an ECU adjustment tool like I had for my mustangs...fuel economy mode, sport mode, racing mode...all from just plugging into the car and hitting update and waiting 5 minutes. Yep, I was one of those guys that did that as soon as I got the car, warranty or not.

I just sold my M3 in order to get a new 4 runner. At the end of the day you need to take a test drive and see if it fits your needs. It is slow, it is heavy, it is a BOF SUV and handles as such. On the flip side it will last forever, be reliable, haul stuff, ext. Just comes down to what you want/need/value.
Given that you've already owned a 4Runner, you already know what you'd be gaining/sacrificing by swapping a rocket for the 4Runner.
As far as what you'll get in a 6th gen (over a 5th gen), I'd temper expectations. Toyota is one of the most boring vehicle manufacturers out there. Minimal performance changes should be expected, and unless Toyota/Lexus fires its design team, it's not about to become a good looking vehicle.
