Nerf style Running boards besides chrome?

Hello,
I just upgraded from my 2010 trail to a 2011 grey Limited. I already ordered the OEM Toyota mudflaps and now looking for some running boards. I have been rummaging through the threads in search of some but having a tough time. I want to avoid the chrome/SS look, its too distracting. I had thought about the black painted steel ones but how will they hold up through WI winters with the salt then rust?

any aluminum options?

What about if I went with stainless, how do they hold up? Do most of the boards on ebay/online vendors mount easily enough even on the Limiteds?
