I also found this plug behind the lock differential button on my 2006. I thought someone posted that the '06 didn't have the plug?

No it V6's that don't have the plug. The year doesn't make a difference until maybe the later years when the VSC off switch came from the factory.

Its srs off connector as you run sr5. Limited edition have button there. V8 connector is blue.
Anyway, I believe that is the same type of connector you need for fj button, but I prefer leave stock connectors as is, even if they are out of the use. It is up to you - you can cut it and use for the button to save some money.

That's it?!?! To de-activate the Side curtain airbags? That's disappointing.
So having a VSC off switch from an '08 really wouldn't do any good for a 2006 V6?

To make it clear. That is NOT the same connector as V8 have. They got blue one with completely different wiring. The connector you found is for side airbacks off on Limited edition. As far you do not have side airbacks - you have no button for switching them off, but have redundant connector you found.
The mod I provide does not deal with that connector and makes no impact on other v6 systems other than vsc

KLIV, I understand now. Thank you for helping a rookie understand. Please reserve one VSC Kit for me, I'll send payment soon. To keep things clean and looking stock, I ordered a VSC Off Switch / Button for an '08 T4R from ToyotaPartsZone.com (pn# 84988-35070). I figure I'll just modify the switch to attach the wires. And again, sorry for all the questions.

Okay, so I got my Toyota Swerve switch in the mail today and I'm hoping someone else can help me with the pinout. There are 4 pins on the back of the switch and I'd like to know if anyone knows what each goes to.
Or should I have posted this in another thread. I don't want to hijack your fun KLIV!

Pins 1&2 are for the actual switch, 3&4 are for the backlight.
This is pretty much true for all of the accessory switches that fit into slots like that, the six pin ones utilize a second light just above pins 1 & 2 (think the 110AC switch)

KLIV, I'm still anxiously awaiting delivery.
So I just realized, I never ordered the "terminal pins" for inside the connector. So while I'm collecting the rest of the supplies, what gauge wire is everyone using to install? 18ga, 20ga, 22ga? Also, to keep everything the same color, what wires does the chip use?

As for wires which are used in FJ button connector I would propose the same cross-section as other button does (Central diff lock, for example). The unit itself uses very thin wires as most of them are used for signal purposes. You might treat this statement as "you may use any reasonable cross-section with no impact on unit performance". Actual colors you might find in install instructions.

Got my kit in the mail yesterday. Been building a wiring harness to put the switch in one of the center console slots.
Im using thermostat 18-5 wire with a solid core because its similar in thickness to the kit harness and comes with 5 wires Pre-bundled. Soldered all connections and bundled wires based on locations. Planning on installing tomorrow.
