The truck looks so badass ! But the headlights and corner lights gotta go . I would recommend getting a new set . Taking them apart and tinting/darkening the inside of the housing.
Btw I'm really jealous of the SRT . And major mods to it ?
Thanks!Lookin good man!
LOL... Thanks!Darth vader 4runner
sick
Thanks! And yes I agree, the headlights were reinstalled for the pics just to give it a more blacked out look to it. But what I really wanted to do is to find projector headlights for it and black out the inner housing. I don't think any company make projectors for the 3rd gen 4R, I did see a set months back in eBay and I should have bought them at that time. Now I've been looking for them again and can't find them. I might have to buy an OEM set and send them out to get the projectors installed and at the same time black out the inside as I want. Any thoughts on that? The truck looks so badass ! Thanks! Ok, next set of pics will be without the light covers and hopefully soon with the projectors. I have something else in the works for the front lighting, I'll post pics and video on that as soon as I finish it.Looks mean as hell. The light covers aren't really my thing, but everything else is sick.
Thanks! Yeah a murdered out look was the idea from the start. You have no idea how much I want to do that but on a housing with projectors.Wow. That is the very definition of murdered out! Looks sweet.
I agree with the tinting of the inside of the lights. I think that would give a much better end result.
Chrome bumpers were actually sold and bought new ones on eBay and had my buddy paint them. The plastic part he prep them and added a flex additive to the paint so it doesn't peel. It's been good so far, same guy painted the rims too. The gray plastic frame around the license plate was painted as well. And being debadged I think it gives it a nice touch to the back.Wow that's quite a transformation! Very good work! Looks really clean, which leads me to my question, how on earth did you get the front chrome and plastic bumper to look so good!? As well as the rear! They look cherry!! I really want to paint my bumpers! And would love to know how you did it! Thanks!

Thanks man! I had the LED tail lights and somehow they both went bad at the same time. I thought it was a fuse or something else, but they just went bad, I installed the stock tail lights and they work great. I had the covers so slap them on for the pics. I rarely drive with them on. Not sure if I'll be giving the LED tail another try, heck the 3rd brake light LED went bad also, half of the LEDs are not working so I slapped the stock one back on also.:trophy:Truck looks awesome but IMO it would look a little more up to date using smoked LEDs and not the tailight covers which screams "the '80s".
The exhaust looks good but you need a better pic of that if you don't mind.
That's what I'm talking about! I'll give it a shot.I did the projector retrofit and painted the inside of my headlights black. I did it all myself with absolutely no experience in this area. It was not that bad. Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can.
Here's a pic of how they turned out:
Here's the thread that tells how I did it.

Good luck.
Hey guys, today I spent some time on the 4Runner washing it and waxing it and after I was done I decided to do a mod I've been putting aside for a while now. I went ahead and converted the turn signal housings on the front bumper to parking lights/turn signal but with switchbacks from v-leds. Let me know what you think...

Thanks! I have this mod on the SRT and I had to have it on the 4Runner also.that is ridiculously awesome!
Thanks!wow that looks amazing, can I ask for more details on how its done ?
Cool thanks, I just emailed them with what I want to do.HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc
Found these guys while looking for upgrades for my headlights. they'll do hid projector retrofit.
If you talk to them on the phone, they will even custom make a set of t4r 3rd gen headlights. Housing and all.
Looks like good pricing
Check it out!
Its ok, I keep coming back to it.Old thread brah![]()

What's your opinion? Too ricey or does it goes well with the black and red theme I'm going for? So far the only other red is the calipers.
And want to add this wheels too with the red inserts.

Edit: The 4Runner is mine again, bought it from my dad. More mods to come soon.![]()

Do you know any good brand of LED tails I can trust?
I think tomorrow I'll put the tail light covers back on and go out for a ride with some 80s music lol.
Tomorrow is a good day to go out and take some pics, so I'll take some of the exhaust. I'm no too happy with the exhaust, I would like the tips a little wider and a bit closer to the bumper. I might re-do it again and with a different muffler too.
That's what I'm talking about! I'll give it a shot.
Your trucks looks awesome man!
I'll be reading your retrofit thread.
Thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on this site for a while now.Awesome 4runner!! Where did you go online to get all your purchases?
Thanks! I think I got them a local car store, I haven't found them online.Sick 4Runner man! Where did you get the headlight covers from?
