New Shoes with Snowflake

so I'll just go strait to the question-

Has anyone installed or have experience with either of the following two tires?

1. Michelin "LTX Winter" P-Metric - it appears to be a softer compound version of the M/S but not too soft as it comes with a 40k mile wear rating. So I feel it could be a year round tire.

2. GY Wrangler All Terrain Adventure, LT rated- this is new tire from GY that is replacing the Silent Armor. The P-metric does not come with the "snowflake" symbol and the LT version is 6lbs heavier per tire than the P-Metric Silent Armor with the snowflake symbol. I'm mentioning weight b/c all of SA feedback I've read wwas positive re: mpg and I would prefer to not lose mpg. The alternative would be to buy the SA which won't be around in the future if a tire needs to be replaced.

I have 20 k on SA 275/55-20s and have been happy. Not any other choices for AT snowflake in my size. Hoping there are more size options when they are done and for no flats. Spent forever looking at tires. Everything is a compromise and size limitations make it even tougher depending on wheel size. I have run BFG ATs on other rigs but not a size option on my 4R...

I currently run the Silent Armor. They have been great the few times I've taken them up to the mountain-through minor mud, but through a good amount of snow and snow that was a sheet of ice. Both snow and ice they preformed extremely well.

Are you in an area of Cali where you are worried about snow and ice on a regular basis? Or even rain? Here in Sunny Seattle, I do notice that the SA don't have the best traction when I'm Downtown Seattle climbing the hills in the rain. From stop-on a hill the traction control kicks in every time (in rain- no snow in Seattle yet...) Could be the tires, could be an over sensitive trac system; I don't know. But, what I do know is that my 05 Explorer with Coop Disco AT did not have this problem.

With that said, I do a fair amount of travel in to the passes and various mountains for snowboarding so will keep my Silent Armors. To bad they are being discontinued. I'll try the AT Adventure when it comes time to replace my SA. I think I read that some of the AT Adventure come with a 60k/mi warranty on LT sizes. Which is 10k more than the SA.

I have 10k on my GY silent armors and they have been great in the snow for me here in Colorado. I have the LT version and I didn't notice any drop in gas mileage, and that was also switching from the 20" limited wheel and tire to the SR5 wheel and size. I wanted something more aggressive if I go off-road but still decent in snow that is why I chose the GY over michelins, I also wanted the stiffer sidewall with the C load.
