New Shoes

I just picked up my new '11 SR5 (in sexy magnetic gray). I'm looking for some advice on upgrading the 17' wheels to 20'. After reading some threads here, I realized I have no friggin idea on what I should do. I always thought that I could just replace the wheels and tires with no problem...but it looks like I might have rubbing problems without a lift kit?? Also, will I have problems if I don't upgrade the brake system?? If somebody could point me in the right direction and help my rookie ass, it would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest would be to swap for the Limited's 20's. No issue there.

No one is upgrading their brake system for any reason that I have seen...

I would start in the picture thread and just look for someone running a 20" setup that you like and see what they are running as far as tires, wheels, lift, etc. Plenty of people are running them without any other mods.

Watch the Classified section.

And put your own "WTT" post in there. There are always owners wanting to trade around.

Well, I just had to check this thread. Your a new member and with a title called "New Shoes", I had to make sure you were not a spammer selling Nike shoes.

Anyway, welcome. I remember someone trying to sell there 20" wheels in our classifieds. I would say you could up-grade to a 20" Limited wheel with no problem. I would think, since the 20" wheel is quite narrow, the ride may be rougher and the cost of buying tires may go up quite a bit from the 17" tires, not to mention, the lack of tire brands that sell that kind of tire.
