New Sliders

Got them made at a local offroad shop. They look good, but as you can see from the pictures I need to get those Icons in the back instead of the OME. The back is too high.

Does it level out any when loaded with gear? The Icons, are they similar rate just a bit shorter or a totally different deal?

Chris, it does a little bit, but not enough to kill the rake. It's at about a 2" rake right now, which is about as bad as stock. My CO's can be cranked more, but I'm at 1.5" of thread showing, which is right on the edge of the comfort zone. 2" is the max recommended, so I don't want to go more than 1.5. The next best solution seems to be to change the rear with something a little less. OME is about 2.5" rear, because it provides 3.25-3.5" in the front if you have OME all around. Icons give about 2" in the back, same as SAW's. The only difference is that SAW's are much more expensive. Icons are $100 more expensive on the front components, however, when comparing rear components, Saw's are double what Icon charges.

Kenny, Thanks, I think I really like them. I spent all of my free time washing my truck before the sun went down, so I will admire them more tomorrow.

Uneek, Yes they are Demello, but they are customized. I took their hybrid sliders as a base, but had them use 100% round tubing. I didn't like it being half square and half round. As for the bumpers, I am still thinking about it. I just don't like the wait time. If I am going to drop $1700 I want faster results than 16+ weeks. For now, I think I am going to get the CBI hitch tire carrier and upsize my tires.

Tires are on the list. But I will most likely just upsize my Nitto's. As for the rims, already did it, and took them off. They looked like crap, my truck is too black already. Blacked out emblems, color keyed grille, not to mention the double limo tint all the way around. Besides, what's the point in wasting $1k on something I am going to trash? I have a few nice chunks taken out of my stock rims from offroading.

I saw your other thread about the bumpers and the long wait. Personally, I think Shrockworks has the best looking front bumpers... going back to that, hoops or no hoops. I would guess it's that long of wait due to popularity and Shrockworks is that darn good. But, 16 weeks would put you in next year when they finally arrive. :bugeye:

I hope Shrockworks comes out with a matching rear bumper. The CBI rear bumper doesn't look as good, IMO. My favorite rear bumper is Crozhawk's custom one.

One other question, isn't all Demello sliders weld on? Demello does really good fabrication.

No, they have bolt on too, but when I asked about it they say that it's not as strong, and that it costs a little extra because they have to have special brackets. I just went with the weld-ons.

Ummmm, It has somewhat of a texture to it, but I may be interpreting it differently than you would if you saw them in person.

About $475 +$75 to weld. They had to remove all of my Xreas lines, so my labor was extra, but they waived the Tax on the entire order, so it evened out. Paid about $580 after agreeing on everything for the added labor to remove the Xreas.

That price is also including $100 to powder coat. So if you want bare steel, it's cheaper.

Looks great!! Welded on sliders are stronger, but, personally, i am scared about anyone welding on my frame. There is a risk that, if not done right, welding may damage the frame (and thus make it weaker). That should not be a problem with you since you got it installed at Demello shop.

Those look great! Do you have any pics you could post of the underside where they meet the frame? I'm considering making my own but I'm still trying to figure out the best attachment solution. I was thinking maybe I wouldn't have to weld onto the frame by making a bolt on bracket.
