Update: I've had the Wet Okole's now for a few months and have gotten in and out it seems no less than 500 times. Since I took off the running boards I also tend to have to slide out and in a little rougher across the seat covers than if I could use the running boards as a step. That considered the seat covers have not moved at all and show no signs of wear at all. I'm 100% happy about the purchase.. Money well spent..

Yes the padding is noticeable and definitely helps my worn seat.. It feels like a new seat.

I have a set (front and back) of Okoles that I bought for my '94. They're available at a reasonable price since I barely have headroom with the plain seat and they make "just enough" become "Argh!" I am 99% sure they'll fit on the newer model (2000), but never tried them.

I only put them on the previous one for a few days until I realized the difference they made in headroom and the fact that on new leather seats they seem to slide just a bit. Since I was protecting brand new seats, I figure they would be counter productive.

If interested, PM me or something like that and we can figure something out.

bringing this one back from the grave huh? haha OP hasnt been on here in three years. But to answer your question, I've had my wet okoles for 3.5 years now and they still look brand new. Padding in the covers has held up very well too.
