New wheels and tires! Opinions welcomed.

American Eagle aluminum 16x8, painted gun metal, Treadwright Warden 265/75-16's. I'm not 100% sold on this setup yet. I know they'll rub off road, and the offset pushes them out a little further than stock, which looks good, but makes it feel different while driving. What do you guys think?

Wheels coming off than stock is good for stability. Wider wheel base lowers the center of gravity.

I found Continental cross trak LX 20 tires with good rating on tirerack.

I already own these, just finished painting the wheels this week, so I just got them mounted, balanced, and installed this morning.

Not exactly my style, but I think if you blacked out your bumpers it would make a big difference.
The chrome, gray and black trim on the bright red paint is just a little bit too much going on for my taste.

I'm not 100% sold on the style, but I dig the color. It's a nice break from the standard black wheels (yes, that includes mine).

I think the wheels look better than most of the wheel styles that seem to be popular these days.

Well, even though I measured the backspacing on the wheels when I bought them, I must have measured incorrectly because I believe they're offset outboard about an inch. I'm getting used to how this makes it feel (much more feedback through the steering wheel). I also believe I have a tire out of balance, or a bad tire. I've got an appt to get the tires rebalanced tomorrow evening, and an alignment scheduled for Friday morning. By Monday I should know if everything I'm experiencing is fixable or not.

After staring at these pics for a while, I definitely agree that the large chrome rear bumper needs to go. Even if I just painted it black for now, it would look better.

Hope the balancing/ alignment issues get worked out easily. I am surprised to hear that the offset makes such a difference in the steering feel, I was looking into ordering some spidertrax spacers but might have to reconsider.

I helped a good friend of mine Plasti Dip the chrome bumpers on his 4runner.
If you want to try something reversible just to determine if you like it I would recommend using Plasti Dip.
It took IIRC about 6 cans and a few hours to do all the coats, but its been over a year and a half and he lives on the beach and it still looks decent.
You should do 5-6 coats and spray it a little closer than you would spray paint, there are a ton of youtube videos on plati dip that can give you some good pointers. From my experience the thicker the coats the smoother the final result will be and with many thinner coats you will end up with an almost bed liner look.

I hoping the alignment fixes things. I've always been curious about the Plasti-dip stuff; might have to check it out. I've got some rust on the bumper, and I need a hitch, so I may just wait until i get make/buy a new one.

I have my trim, bumpers, and emblems plasti dipped. For the bumpers I did 5 light coats and only used 3 cans, maybe 4. The only drawback is if you are offroad and touch it to rock, it will easily come off. and it is difficult to clean as if you rub it, it pulls off. When it gets muddy, its a PITA to clean.

But I am PRO plastidip I use the stuff all the time on everycar I can get my hands on.

About the wheel. I like the wheels, the color/bumpers is what i'm not sold on. I might try black wheels w/ the plasti dip and see if you like it better. if you do, powdercoat them that way.
