Hello all,

I just purchased my 4Runner last Thursday morning, I traded in my FJ Cruiser TRD/SE. I really liked the FJ but I had major problems with the windshield (3 broken windshields in 5 months) and I had a problem with my blind father in-law being able to get in and out of the FJ. Since my in-laws are moving in with us in the near future I decided to upgrade to a 4Runner. I bought a 2007 SR5 4x4 for $28,509 the MSRP was $33,685 so I did pretty good. I also got $28,509 for my FJ so I did not have to go out of pocket. The 4Runner is sweet, it rides really nice and is a perfect fit for the in-law situation. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge about this vehicle on this forum. The members of the fjcruiserforums.com forum are a great group of people and were a tremendous help to me. I hope I find this site to be as good, and the people to be as frielndly. Thanks in advance for the questions I will eventually ask you.

Welcome to the group Ron! Nice choice in vehicle - the 4Runner is a little more user friendly than the FJ. Lots of information here and lots of helpful people.

Is there a way to see the active threads across the forum? On the other forum it showed the top 25 to 30 ative threads so you could follow them rather than having to go into each individual area.

The problem with the FJ's windshields aren't the glass itself but the very vertical design and you aren't the only one.

The FJ is a better choice for the off roader but as a daily driver the 4Runner is a more comfortable choice.

Nice looking ride. I have an 03 runner sr5 V-8 and have been curious about the FJ since it's debut. Anything else about the FJ you did not like? Did you find visibility to be an issue? How about head room? I am not that tall, 6 ft, and lack of headroom is the only issue I have with the 4runner.

I moved from northern Va two years ago. I don't miss the traffic.

Welcome and beautiful 4Runner you got!! The blue was my first choice but we just ended up with what we go because of the price we got it for, the Galactic Grey Mica. Still love it though!

I'm a fairly new member and have only had my 4Runner for about a month and this seems to be a great group of guys and I've learned quite a bit already from them. :bigok:

The FJ was a great ride. There is a visibility issue but if you learn to use mirrors it is not a problem. My wife hated the suicide doors and getting people in and out of the back seat. I did not have a problem with head room but I am only 5'8. It did ride really sweet and I miss it every time I see one drive past me. I wish I could have kept it and also bought the 4Runner.
