I fiiiiinally took some proper photos of my 4Runner with the new lift and wheels/tires. It rained here yesterday, so it made the local trails nice and muddy for the photos!

Thanks dude! The suspension feels great. I can definitely notice the stiff springs at times. But, overall, I have no complaints.
It's actually Trabuco Canyon.
I went on a camping trip this past weekend to the mountains of the Los Olivos area, just north of Solvang, CA. It was mostly hiking and sitting around the campfire, but I was able to sneak away for a little bit for some fun in the 4Runner.
Here are a few photos from the trip:
On the way back home, we stopped at the Cold Springs Tavern off the 154. Nearby is the Cold Springs Bridge. Pretty neat!
You might notice a couple things in the photos above:
1. I'm missing part of the rear fender flares. They interfere with the sliders, so I had to remove them during the installation of the sliders. I've just been to lazy to modify the flares and re-install them. Hopefully I'll get to that project soon. The poor thing looks unfinished!
2. I only have half of the Savage front skid plate setup installed. It turns out that one of the lower threaded holes in the chassis is stripped. I didn't want to risk having the heavy skid fall off, so I just kept the lower part off for now, until I can re-tap that hole. Also, the lower part of the skid actually makes contact with the lower control arms. I'm going to have to notch the lower skid a bit before I can install it.

Hey man you have a beautiful looking 4runner :hatsoff: I've always loved those wheels you got, only reason I didn't get them was because FN wheels sold them under Weds Adventure and they were crazy expensive. It's cool you live driving distance to all those shops...I live in Denver so Toytec Lifts and some very reputable offroad shops are near me so it's always nice actually going to the shop you're ordering parts from and talking to the guys to get a few tips and whatnot. Also no shipping costs! :becky:
How do you like the combo of OME 890 coils with the bilstein 5125 w/ adapter in the rear? Does it ride too stiff for a daily driver? I know if you get the OME shocks in the rear with the OME coils together those are way too stiff for a DD, so how is the ride with the bilsteins? Also, does that adapter make a lot of clunking going over bumps and stuff? I'm debating getting the exact same setup you have for the rear and wanted to hear what you thought of it!

Heck yeah, it's nice to live near the shops. It's definitely nice to be able to pick up the parts in person, chat with the guys there, and to save on shipping. What's better, is if you can find the parts cheaper online (or with no tax if you purchase from a website that's out of state), and them pick up locally. I saved a bunch on tax that way by buying my Camburg uca's through Wheeler's, then picking them up locally at Camburg's shop.
I have no complaints about DD'ing with this setup. The combo of the 890's and the 5125's is pretty soft/comfortable. I get no noises from the rear what-so-ever. There's no reason that the adapter should make any clunking noises...unless it's not tightened down all the way! lol The only thing with the adapter is that it's kind of a pain in the butt to install. There's not much room up in there for tools.

Time for a few updates:
Since the Outdoor Logic front bumper has LED turn signals, they flash really fast. To fix the issue, I replaced the flasher relay with the Tridon EP35. Now the flashers blink at their normal rate again. It was a lot simpler than most people make it out to be. Once the lower dash panel is out of the way, simply remove the 10mm bolts on the fuse box and tilt it down until you get enough access to the flasher unit. I saw no need to remove additional panels like others have. This is not my photo, but this is the flasher relay that I used:
The installation of the Savage Offroad sliders required me to remove part of the rear fender flares and trim them a bit. I finally got around to trimming them up this past weekend. Now I finally have my rear fender flares again! It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I basically just had to cut out some of the lower part of the flare so that it clears the sliders.
I bought some Prothane sway bar bushings a while back, and finally got around to installing them this weekend. I don't have any "installed" photos yet, but here are a couple photos of the parts:
I've noticed a slight pull to the left when I really brake hard. I figure that the caliper is probably sticking. I really hate doing brake diagnostics, so I thought that this was a good opportunity to "upgrade" to the Tundra brakes. So I've collected some parts for that project. Hopefully I'll be able to install them sometime in the next few weeks. Until then, here are some photos of the parts. I went with "semi-loaded" calipers from Napa, Brembo rotors, and Toyota pads/shims:
And lastly...this weekend I also finally got around to installing my Camburg upper control arms. It was a super straight-forward install. Even before getting it re-aligned after the install, the truck already feels amazing. The added caster really helps the front end feel more stable. Unfortunately, I ran out of daylight and I didn't get to take any photos. Stay tuned for those.

Well, since you're still coming around to check things out...I'll add some more photos. My buddy and I went on a little off-roading trip this weekend. It's nothing crazy...just a local fireroad that leads up to the peak. It's the same place as my first trip, back on the first page of this thread.
This time around, it was a pretty smoggy day, so the views weren't as good. Plus, this time of year brings tooooons of gnats up at the peak...making it very unpleasant. So we didn't hang out very long up there. Anyway...here are a few photos:

Hey man, you have a really nice rig there and take some awesome pics! How do you like the ride on/off road of the 5125's and 890s? I'm thinking about going that route when I lift my 4runner here pretty soon. Again, sweet build! Keep it up!:bravo:

I have no complaints with the suspension setup. But, it's my first truck, so I don't really have a basis for comparison. On-road, it's very comfortable. The only time I really notice the stiff front springs is on speedbumps. Offroad, it's done totally fine (at least with the mild off-roading that I've done so far.)

Today I did a little wheeling trip with a group of guys. We went to the same local mountain peak that I went to last weekend...but this time we accessed it from a different trail. For those that are familiar with Santiago peak...we took Main Divide Road from Ortega Hwy up to the peak, then back down the other side into Orange County. Our group consisted of 1) 4Runner (me), 2) 2nd gen Tacoma on Fox suspension, 3) Tundra on Icon suspension 4) 1st Gen Tacoma (stock for now), 5) Jeep Wrangler 6) Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Anyway...I'm sure you guys would rather just see some pictures...so here you go:
