nihkon's 4Runner

And here are a few shots of my 4Runner:

On my trip last weekend, I learned that the rear mud flaps really get in the way when I flex the rear end. So I removed them before this trip and, I gotta say, it made a huge difference! Although...when the tires stuff up in the wheel well, there's still plenty of contact! In the photos below, the tire is making contact with both the rear bumper and the inner part of the fender flare. Time for an aftermarket bumper?! :biggrin1:

^Thanks man. Yeah I totally love these wheels too. Are you going to pick up a set?

I tnkered with my intake system today. Finally did the deckplate mod. Finally did the ISR mod. I also swapped out the stock throttle body "D" gasket with the TRD "O" gasket, and cleaned out the throttle body while I was in there. I also changed out the stock intake filter for one from AFE. On to the photos....

TRD "O" throttle body gasket:

Nice job on the deckplate. I have the AFE filter as well. Definitely the way to go. Cleans with simple green and water!!!

I recently picked up some gear for offroad trips.

ARB EZ-Deflator:

And the Superflow MV-50. It seems to have good reviews with the offroad crowd, and it was cheap on Amazon, so I figured I'd give it a try.
If comes with in a nifty bag:

Which way does that AFE air filter go in? Does the side with the metal mesh on it face towards the front of the vehicle, or the side with no metal face the front of the vehicle?

Thanks man! I had forgotten that you have that filter as well. Thanks for the tip with the simple green and water. :thumb3:

On a side note...this trip gave me my first opportunity to use my deflator and air compressor that I posted previously. I gotta say, the ARB deflator works so nicely! And so fast!

The MV50 compressor also did it's job. It was fairly quick.

in love! such a great looking rig man.
Thanks dude!

Any squeeking with those UCAs?

I'm thinking about doing the upgrade but I have a fear of the squeak.
Yup, they do squeak from time to time. You just have to make sure to keep them lubed (dry lube.)
When I wash the truck, it tends to rinse away the lube, then it'll need another application...otherwise the squeak reappears.

My advise:
1. Be liberal with the lube. Let it pool up, then flex the chassis before it dries to let it work itself in around the uniball.
2. Either replace the zerk fittings with 45/90 degree fittings...or get a 90 degree adapter for your grease gun. With the straight zerk's that come with the uca's...there isn't enough room between the uca and the frame to get a straight grease gun fitting in there.

Love the 4runner, very tasteful. And i wanna know whats done to the CRX if you havent said so yet. I myself have a little boosted ek hatch and love hondas

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything in here.
But I'm pretty excited to update that I took advantage of some black friday sales. This weekend I ordered:

-Mini H1 HID retrofit kit from The Retrofit Source
-CBI hybrid rear bumper with swing away.

I'm super stoked! I'll post some updates when they show up.
