Nitto Ridge Grappler?

I made the switch to Nittos from my KO2s. Kept the same size 285/70/17 and went E load. Probably should have switched to C load but I didn't realize it was an option until after the fact. Oh well. Load E seems a lot stiffer than my KO2 Load E. Seems like I need to run 32 PSI to have a comparable ride to my 38 PSI in KO2s.

I assume you never had wheel spacers? Looks good!

No, not a fan of wheel spacers. Order the correct rims and there's no need for them.

With my current wheels, 17x8 4.5" BS and 0 offset, I removed the front mud flaps, trimmed the lower inside edge of the front bumper, no rubbing and no need for a BMC

That is awesome! Do you have any straight side pictures showing the entire car and the tires? Other than the pictures you have already posted, I just want to see how beefy they look compare to 285s. Thanks!

Significant improvement over the 285 BFG KO2 I was running. Here's mine along with a couple friends. White truck has the same tires in a 285 so really can't get a better side by side comparison.

Discount tire direct having their annual $100 off $400 deal.

There are sets of nitto ridge grappler 285/70/17 going for $496 for sets of two.
These are the C rated 6 ply tires. They also have the E rated 10 ply tires at $512 (2).

If I do two separate transactions and apply the code the total ends up being $792 for the set.

Searching online i couldn't really find a better deal. Of course mount/balance is not included.

Thoughts?

Hahaha, I do too much wheeling with this thing to worry about body mount rub. I don't feel like doing a BMC either. Also, I can barely fit in my garage so I'm chicken to go bigger!

How bad of an idea would it be to put 285/70/17 ridge grapplers on my stock '17 TRD Pro before I install my lift? I ordered them early because of that discount tire deal and I'm a little antsy to see them installed.

I seem to remember seeing someone put them on a stock TRD Pro without issues, but I can't find the post.

Not sure how you 295 guys aren’t rubbing the body mount at full flex. Mounted 285s yesterday and this is the amount of clearance at full lock.

I did BMC and a lot of trimming. I'm also running 17x9 -38 F5's. I could fit 305s with the standard 17x8.5 0 to -12 offset wheels. But I like my stance too much.

Go for it. I did it with a 285/70/17 KO2 but I'm running the 17x8 FX Pro wheel rather than the 17x7 TRD Pro wheel. Very close to the same looking wheel however the FX Pro is wider, lighter, stronger, and has a little less back spacing which helps with rubbing. You will have to trim the bumper but you're going to have to do that anyway. You will also have to remove the front mud flaps or chop them up. Looks better with them removed anyway IMO.

that's exactly how my 285's look as well. i will eventually do a bmc.
