No rack or rear tire carrier, how would you carry fuel?

I use a hitch hauler. Easily holds 15 gallons (3x5 gallon gas cans).

I agree this will be a random occurance which is why I kept putting it off and forgot till now, I don't want to drop a lot of $ on a temporary fix. I will swing by autozone and see what they have, thanks for the info!

I meant to put in my post that I will have my Mountain bike rack mounted on the hitch or that would have been perfect, thanks tho!

Thanks again for some good ideas, I had posted this question fresh off duty and very tired and didn't mention the hitch being used, or that when I return I will be ordering a rack from [MENTION=68079]drabbits[/MENTION] so I don't want to spend a bunch of $ for something that will be used once. Some of those ideas were perfect.

A thought-

Strap them to your mountain bike rack. You can easily fit a Rotopax between your frame rails and/or on the top tube and use some "ratchet style" tie-downs to keep things snug back there. You could even take your seat post off, and re-attached with the post going town the open middle portion of a Rotopax for peace of mind

I ended up just buying two rotopax and mounted them to my ARB rack (which I didn't have installed when I made that post) using the fourtrek mounts. Lots of change to the 4Runner since I posted this. I also use a raingler net now for gear on top. Thanks for the suggestion though
